Michael Anderson was born in a middle class family in Arkham. He graduated in History in the University of Arkham; his passion was ancient Egypt. But with the war, he joined the army and was send to France. When he returned, he didn’t have much patience to continue his studies and make a PHD like he was supposed, he wanted to go to the field and it’s what he has been doing the last few years. But now he received an invitation to something more important: an archaeological expedition to Peru. He hopes that with the contacts and experience he will get, he should be latter able to get funds to an expedition to Egypt.

Investigator History :
Born on January 31st 1879 in the city of Nantes, from a French father and a British mother, Antoine Marie-Francis D’Estaing is now a 43 year old bachelor and a well respected linguist .
He spent his childhood and teenage years in Nantes, and then went to Paris to earn his Diplôme en Lettres. He does his military service in 1900. After having spent a few years travelling across Europe as a tourist he resumes his academic career. After having earned his PhD in Linguistics, he travels to Switzerland and teaches in Geneva for a few years alongside such luminaries as Ferdinand de Saussure.
He returns to Paris in the early 1910s and teaches Linguistics at la Sorbonne in Paris, publishes many articles and book chapters that are very well regarded not only locally but at an International level. He has an active correspondance with linguists across the world. He is also heavily involved with the Société de Linguistique de Paris.
When the Great War breaks out, he is one of the first to enlist and serves as an officer but gets injured in the right thigh in 1914. Following his injury, he is reallocated to the Deuxième Bureau (military Intelligence), and rapidly the french army realized that his distinct skills can be put to greater use inside of this department. He rapidly rises through the hierarchy, but, having an instinctive distaste about the underlying political issues, is quite content to serve his country at an intermediary level of responsibilities.
Once the war is over, he returns to the passion of his life, linguistics. When asked about what he did during the war, he simple says “j’étais avec le Deuxième Bureau” and changes the subject.

Appearance and Personality: Marcus is a tall man with a powerful build, something he takes every advantage of in his work. He looks entirely capable of inflicting violence but actually tries to avoid it when he can. But when needed, he's not afraid to get his hands dirty. His features are plain and unexceptional, but he bears scarring on the left side of his face due to a shrapnel injury during the war. To compensate somewhat for this he favors expensive suits( at least the ones in which he can afford)
He's a quiet man and says little, preferring to serve as muscle and stand just behind his client, his arms crossed and a scowl on his face. Generally it works. But he's not a simpleton, and when he speaks one soon learns that this is a man who while he may not be the most educated is something of a deep and tactical thinker.
Background: Born in 1892, Marcus grew up in the slums of New York, one of five children of a dockworker and homemaker. His family was hit hard by an Influenza outbreak, which claimed 3 of his siblings. Soon after his his father died of a heart attack, his mother of a broken heart. Marcus raised his younger sister, his only surviving sibling, and took to doing odd jobs around the neighborhood to make ends meet. For a time he was semi well known on the boxing circuit. He eventually fell in with the wrong sort of crowd, and served as an enforcer for the local crime lord. It paid the bills, but when America entered The Great War he found himself drafted. He served with quiet distinction in France, earning little in the way of accolades and a war wound for his trouble.
After the War Marcus came back to New York something of a drifter. His sister had married in his absence and seemed to be doing fine, taking away his primary reason for serving as a local tough. Seeking a nobler career, he joined the Pinkerton agency. He quickly realized he still had to get his hands dirty here, but resigned himself to it. If nothing else, it paid better.
He's been working as a bodyguard for a prominent family for several months now, closely guarding their dilettante of a son.

After the events in Peru, Marcus returns to New York. Flush with cash, he rents an apartment in a nice and quiet middle class neighborhood and tries to live a respectable life. He gives a fair chunk of the rest to his sister, who has just had her first baby. He still sees the others he met on that faithful trip, and he works for Dr. Sanchez at the Natural History Museum. He still does part time P.I. work, to supplement his income and mostly because he enjoys it.
And he's quite happy to stay away from the occult.As far as he's concerned he'd be happy never to experience any of it again. But if he does, he keeps his gun ready, just in case.

Appearance & Personality: John Smith had the face of a slice bread with some butter slathered on top, that is to say, of course, that he had an appearance that was so ordinary, forgettable, and plain that he could almost seamlessly blend into the background without anyone batting so much as an eye. John, unfortunately, also had the fashion sense of someone three times his age and dressed with all the flair and charm of a piece of beige wallpaper.
He is calm, mild-mannered, and unremarkable in both personality and appearance to such a degree that close friends could forget about him after a few minutes of silence. Indecisive and uncertain of his future, John decided to put off making any decisions of specialisation and/or career choices for as long as humanly possible with the support of a wealthy family behind him. After all, since he was destined to be unremarkable, might as well relish it, right?

Appearance: Atauchi is a male of indigenous Quechuan descent. He is short in stature, but deceptively strong and dexterous. He has long dark hair, dark eyes, and a deeply tanned complexion.
Personality: Atauchi is a quiet, somewhat superstitious individual. He speaks to others only when he deems it necessary. He is extremely self-reliant and now and then has the unfortunate habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Background: Born in 1896, Atauchi is native to a small village in the northern part of modern day Bolivia. His father was conscripted into the military during the War of the Pacific and died at the hands of the Chilean aggressors. His mother and two sisters fled the country just last year when control of the government was seized in a coup d'état led by Republican nationals. In 1921, following a successful archaeological expedition in Peru, the tracker agreed to take a permanent position with Doctor Sánchez at (unnamed university) in New York City, New York. Late in 1923, Atauchi was finally able to locate his mother and sisters at a migrant camp in Peru. The women were a bit worse for wear, but alive. He has since provided them with the financial means to join him in America.

Born in the mean streets of Chicago, Cynthia lost her parents at a very early age and initially spent her childhood among the local street toughs and urchins. Making up for her small and fragile physique, it was her fiery and determined nature that ensured her survival. Eventually the local authorities took her to the Parslowe Street Orphanage, and it was here, under their strict, yet kindly guidance, that she began to excel.
Fiercely intelligent, this little orphan took to her wards' education like a duck to water, mastering the school curriculum, developing a love of history and devouring the classic tales of antiquity. Soon she could be found spending all of her free time in the city's many museums, marvelling at the ancient artefacts therein and losing herself in glories of the past. She also developed an enduring desire to find out what made people tick. Being able to read people was a useful trait during her feral years, and it was a skill that she pursued relentlessly in later life.
At high school, this tiny firecracker faced anyone who dared mock her humble background with the same fierce pugnaciousness as she faced life in general. Practically blasting through school, she won a place at the Miskatonic University in Arkham, majoring in psychology and applying herself as wholeheartedly as ever. Her work on the psychology of the indigenous peoples of South America and her interest in mesoamerican civilisations gained her an exchange posting to the prestigious University of San Marcos in Lima, Peru, where she befriended noted archaeologist Professor Shanchez.
Following experiences in Peru, Cynthia continued with her studies in the US, eventually gaining a master's degree in psychology and going on to work on a Doctorate at Columbia University. To suplement the income gained from investing her Peru windfall, she earns a living as a researcher at the university's Behavioral Lab in addition to her studies.
All too aware of her physical frailties, Cynthia has always taken steps to protect herself. She can brawl with the best of them, practices regularly at a local firing range and has even taken sword-fighting lessons.

Appearance & Personality:,Nemesio looks old for his age, his very much outside lifestyle on the sites and the general hardship of the Andes higlands has turn his skin hard and wrinckle. His old conservative style of clothing dont exactly makes him look younger either.
He is thoug very much modern and have made it one of his crusades to integrate women into society, he favours socialism and believes in the good in human nature.
He likes to talk and joke and can talk hours to end of archeology and anthropology, he also has good insight in more cultivated circles, has for years been host for politicians and high society in Lima, working those potential money donors.
Background:,Sánchez was born a "mountain Indian" in an Andean village in Huarochirí Province, Peru; his family spoke Quechua, the most widely spoken indigenous language in the nation. He was able to gain a first-class education by persuading the Peruvian government to fund it. Sánchez completed his Bachelor's degree in medicine at the National University of San Marcos in Peru. While still a student, Sánchez studied the practice of trepanation among natives of Huarochirí and amassed a very large collection of skulls. He was also studying early pathologies in the population. His collection became the basis for a collection at his university. His abilities were recognized early and senior men acted as mentors.
He was awarded a scholarship by Harvard University, where he learned English and earned his Master's degree in anthropology. Next he went to Europe, where he studied archeology. In 1912 he attended the Congress of Americanists in England, a group in which he became prominent in later years. It was the beginning of his active international life.
Sánchez was one of the first academics hired by the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (National University of San Marcos) when the Museo de Arqueología y Antropología (Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology) opened in 1919. He is currently the senior Professor of Archaeology.
Dr.Sánchez being a Archeologist with this experience of meeting the karashiri, takes an enormous interest in Anthropology, trying to find out if the krashiri "illness" had spread from Peru and beyond or even if it was introduced by some older civilization. He was quite sure that the spanish conquistadores were victims in this context. Nemesio Sánchez had a special interest in the Olmecas as the earliest civilization builders in modern day Mexico, he had his suspicious that the Olmecs sacrifices culture had something to do with the karashiri, it was at least one of his main hypothesis.
Dr.Sánchez (and his team?) is in New York the autumn of 1924 working on the exposition.

Luther is a short man, 5ft tall if you can believe what he says, he has dwarfism, his limbs being proportionately shorter than his torso. But he is not a small man, with broad shoulders, barrel chest, and deep mellow voice. His gaze is intense, and his expression alternates between a malicious smirk and a sneer. He dresses soberly but with little flashes of style, like a colourful silk handkerchief or a cravat. Quick to laugh, quick to anger, with a low threshold for violence, Luther nevertheless knows when discretion is the better part of valour.
Background
As long as he can remember Luther has been hustling on the streets of New York. No family worth mentioning he's always lived by his wits, for what they're worth. He knows Marcus from before the war when he was a mob enforcer. Luther never served due to his size and continued to make his way through the underbelly of the city, eventually finding his niche as a wheelman. He doesn't talk about those early days and what he experienced but the one enduring legacy is his intense fear of confined spaces after one too many jobs where his size was considered some kind of asset.
Luther knows he isn't a good man, he's not proud of it but that's just how it is, just where life has taken him. He never thought he'd see thirty five years and frankly he wasn't too bothered about it. But that was before, before he met Louise. Now that gal was sweet enough to turn a man straight and Luther has started to re-evaluate his priorities.
He tried taking on some legitimate work as a driver, but jeez, it was dull, and the pay was lousy, he was thinking about jacking it all in and returning to crime unless something more interesting presented itself. Luther knew Marcus had gone to work for the Pinkerton's, a bit of muscle for men with money, hell maybe Marcus could find work for a driver who knew how to take care of himself?
