Jimmy the Chin was particularly amused by his companion's comment, though gave no indication of this other than a slight smirk as he received the sheets of paper from the other man. Given the former athlete's unscrupulous past, the gangster knew his influence was not to blame here. He gave the papers a quick glance and then stuffed them into his suit jacket's inner pocket.

"Do not mistake me for a common thief, Muldoon. I only go after the big scores." he retorted.

Coach snorts.

"Hey relax, I'm just yanking your chain."

Each of you feels as if someone is watching you. Yet, when you think you see someone out of the corner of your eye, you turn to find empty space. No one there. This happens more than once, though you do not discuss this with anyone, yet.

Coach shudders involuntarily and pulls his jacket collar up as if struck by a cold breeze.

"C'mon, let's go find these builders."

You manage to find an old African American man named Aaron who remembers the removal of the stone.

He produces a photograph:

It is a photograph of laborers kneeling by the water’s edge, holding fragments of a large stone disk. The fragments suggest a symbol of a flame bounded by the outlines of a star.

"Did you know Dr. Shrine?" Joseph asks Aaron.

When Coach gets the chance, he asks:-

"What do you remember of Andrew McBride? Did he ever start acting weird after the stone was broken?"

Aaron:
Dr. Shrine...nah. McBride was off, but mostly mumbled a lot to hisself. He wouldn't hurt nobody. I...I, said too much. It's like we're in the eye of the storm. I hope you're strong enough to weather what's comin'.

He begins to sing:

Jimmy the Chin ignored the chill, besides, the gangster had nothing to worry about, his own men were watching his back after all. He directed the driver to take them to the next locale and then followed Muldoon as he approached the the African American individual. He reached out to snatch the photograph from the elderly man. Things seemed to be going fine at first, but then he started singing. Jimmy rolled his eyes.

"Look pal, stop that before I lose my temper. Tell us everything you know." he demanded.

OOC:   @Umbral You want a Dex check to see if Jimmy grabs the photo?

I think snatching the photo is more of a story element than a tactical move. No roll necessary.

The old man continues to sing, eyes closed...

Coach doesn't much care for this kind of singing and he reckons they're not going to get much more out of the guy, however he hazards one last question.

"What happened to all those stone pieces in the photo?"

The old man looks down at the rock he's been sitting on and begins to laugh...softly...then his laughter borders on the hysterical.
