IC-Breakdown(various)

The dead have begun to rise, but they are not the only problem. A small group of survivors at a truck stop in southwestern Nebraska must contend not only with zombies, but with internal division, a nearby group of heavily-armed skinhead survivalists, and even more horrifying dangers. Can they overcome their differences and survive, or will they join the ranks of the living dead?

"This can't be happening. It's not real." Mitchell says as he grinds his fists into his eyes.

"Let's get up on the roof. It's probably safer up there." Gary says to Kimberly and holds the ladder for her to go up first.

Samantha checks her guns whilst Kimberly climbs the ladder. "Mind holding it for me too?" She asks Gary "I've kinder got my hands full." Samantha has a rifle and a shotgun slung over her shoulders.

Outside the garage-
"Thank you," said Kimberly. In spite of her injury, she was able to quickly climb the ladder to the garage roof.

The dogs looked in the direction of the diner, which could not be seen from here, though they had no problem smelling. They began to growl and bark.

On the roof of the diner-
The horror was too much for Mitchell, and he fainted.

9:33 AM
Outside the garage-
Gunfire erupted suddenly from the front of the diner, around the corner. So did screaming. Samantha managed to scale the ladder.

On the roof of the garage-
Samantha reached the top of the ladder. From here she could see the police cruiser and Baldwin's truck out on the highway just to the south, both of them heading east. The skinheads' vehicles were still parked on the dirt road well to the west. She couldn't see the area directly in front of the diner from here where the shooting was coming from, however. She would have to move to the diner's roof for that, as Kimberly was doing now.

On the roof of the diner-
Kimberly reached where Mitchell had fallen, and then she saw what he had.

Spoiler:
Looking down from the edge of the roof, Kimberly was horrified to see the two dead skinheads now on their feet and closing in on the hapless priest in front of the diner's doors, who had retrieved their weapons. He was shooting one of them with the M-16, and more bullets struck the dead man from within the diner, but he barely was even slowed. He lunged forward and wrapped its arms around the priest in a death grip. Then the other one came up behind him and bit a massive chunk out of the priest's right arm. Baldwin was moving too, albeit very slowly with only one working arm and one leg. He had dragged himself halfway to the priest. All three of the men she knew to be dead had red eyes.

Gary doesn't need any more encouragement and scrambles up the ladder as fast as he can.

Outside the garage-
Dave held the ladder from below and got ready to climb next while Jimmy waited his turn behind him.

On the roof of the garage-
Gary reached the top of the ladder and joined Samantha.

On the roof of the diner-
"God, they're killing him!" cried Kimberly. She leaned over the edge of the roof and fired her shotgun at the dead man that was grabbing the priest. At this range, she couldn't miss. She blasted a hole in his right shoulder, but he did not even seem to notice.

"Killing who?" Samantha asks aloud. "More skinheads?" She's very surprised to see Kimberly raise her shotgun and fire it. "Has everyone gone mad? They (the skinheads) wouldn't shoot the dogs would they? That's barbaric!"

She is far more upset with the idea of the dogs being killed than the people. She looks anxiously down the ladder. "Is there a rope or something?"

Outside the garage-
"They can generally look after themselves," said Dave. "One thing they can't do, as you saw earlier, is climb a ladder, and I can't climb one either if I'm carrying fifty pounds of dog. There might be a rope inside the garage that could be used to make a harness." He began to climb the ladder.

On the roof of the diner-
"It's the same skinheads!" called Kimberly. "They were dead, but they're moving now! They're eating the priest!" Then there was a massive explosion from the parking lot. "Oh sh-" Kimberly shouted as she threw herself flat next to Mitchell, but the sound of another huge explosion cut her off.

On the roof of the garage-
As the white van drove away to the north on the dirt road, the explosions shook the building. Columns of orange and black flame and smoke rose from where the gas pumps had once stood. The ladder began to wobble as Dave was about to crest the roof. It toppled over, and he fell with it, landing next to Jimmy. Amazingly enough, he was uninjured.

"What does she mean- the dead skinheads are eating the priest?" Samantha asks Gary. As she has miraculously missed seeing anything ghastly so far.

She watches the men below pick themselves up. "Maybe the dogs will look after them. More like." She calls down to them. "Maybe you should get the dog to help you up here!" To Gary she says, "Give me animals any day." But then she is a park ranger.

"What does she mean- the dead skinheads are eating the priest?" Samantha asks Gary.

"I don't know what's going on, but it appears as if the skinheads are on some kind of drugs or something because when they get shot, they don't go down, they go crazy and drop their guns and try to bite people." Gary says slowly, as if processing what he has seen but doesn't quite understand himself.

Outside the garage-
"Thanks, man," said Dave, rising with Jimmy's help and restoring the ladder to its proper position. "Yeah, I'm fine. I managed to roll with it when I came down. Bruised, but not hurt too bad."

On the roof of the diner-
"I mean they're eating him!" calls Kimberly, dragging herself back to her feet and peering over the edge. "They're still at it, too!"

On the roof of the garage-
Neither Samantha nor Gary could see the area directly in front of the diner from their current position, so they couldn't see what Kimberly had told them was happening. The explosion would have reduced the parking lot to a parking lot if it hadn't already been one. As it was, the pumps were gone, columns of flame and smoke rising into the sky from where they had once stood. The helicopter that had been in the parking lot had been blown to pieces, and none of the vehicles parked there looked like they were going anywhere any time soon, with damage ranging from shredded tires and shattered glass to being completely gutted. The white pickup truck that the skinheads had left in the dirt road between the T-Bone and the motel was intact, however, as it had been far enough from ground zero. Their panel van was no longer within sight.

"Wow that was some explosion. Must have been the gas pumps. Hopefully it's cleared away the skinheads but sounds like Kimberley's wits have been addled by the blast. Says Samantha.
"Hey, Kimberly don't let the skinheads see you or they might come and get you too. Hunker down next to that guy; what's the matter with him anyway?" She points to the body of Mitchell lying on the roof.
