London, 1940: The world is engulfed in the flames of war, and now the war has come to Great Britain's capital. German bombers rain death and destruction upon the blacked-out city, but what other terrors lurk unseen in the darkness? The Time Lord, his companions, and a handful of London's inhabitants doing their bit may be the only ones who can avert disaster.
This is Classic Doctor Who meets Call of Cthulhu, the fifth of a series of connected adventures set in different eras and locations that includes The Terror Out of Time, The Ninth Planet, The Shadow Over Dunwich, and The Brotherhood of Death.

The Zero Room is a room in the TARDIS that is cut off from the rest of the universe, where you can come to relax and chat. All Out of Character discussion, whether game-related or not, can take place here.

I heartily recommend reading Blackout and All Clear by Connie Willis, her two-part novel published in 2010 about time travelers in World War Two Britain. I read them earlier this year, and they are excellent and give a great feel for the setting.

I'd just like to say that the introduction reminded me of recent events on United Airlines.

Thanks, I've updated the picture in both the previous scenario's character sheet and this one's.

That's okay. I understand, as my brain isn't working too well either. I'll have more time over the weekend anyway.

Oops sorry Mr Handy, I've only just found out about Horror in the Blackout! If I'm not ready in time can my character join in once the game has started? I'll read the background stuff now and have a ponder on someone suitable.

Sure, no problem! I don't think it will start before your character is ready, anyway. The Brotherhood of Death hasn't quite concluded yet, and I may start the TARDIS crew's thread here before I bring in everyone else. In the worst case, we can just assume your character was in the air raid shelter all along.

Our last player hasn't logged in for two weeks now, so I plan to go ahead and start the air raid shelter and the air raid warden's threads this weekend.

The Blitz has begun! Everyone please proceed to the shelter in an orderly fashion. There is no cause for panic. Our helpful air raid warden will assist anyone who needs help.
Eddie Lawlor, your thread is now up and running:

Sweet!
I have happy memories of reading Connie Willis' 'To Say Nothing of the Dog' some years ago. And I have just reserved 'Blackout' at my local library.

You're in for a treat! I've always liked Connie Willis's writing. Fire Watch was the first thing of hers I've read, and I've also read and own copies of To Say Nothing of the Dog and Passages (2002), which was the last book she wrote before Blackout and All Clear (both published in 2010). She spent the intervening eight years writing them. I hadn't even heard of those books until I saw them in a bookstore in London late last year.

One thing everyone should keep in mind is that you're only supposed to read In Character (IC) threads if your character is in them, with the singular exception of Introduction, which everyone may read. This will help keep player and character knowledge separate and increase suspense. After the adventure concludes, you may all go back and read everything.
