Music From a Darkened Room

The year is 1999. A group of agents with the FBI quickly discover a routine case is anything but. Thrust into a world that's as incomprehensible as it is deadly, can this team hope to hold back the darkness?

OOC:   Edited my last post. Chaz technically goes before Vanessa, but it did not matter this round.

Before Yarrow has another chance to raise the ax, Nik grabs the haft and attempts to pull it to take the academic off-balance and onto the floor.

Spoiler:
Yarrow's fightback roll applies to all unarmed attacks against him this turn, meaning that Nik would have needed a crit himself to force another roll off between them.I'm going to say you'd have known this and can change your action if you want, and I'll let you keep the roll. It should be noted that fight back does not work against ranged attacks if you want to shoot him.

If you are determined not to harm Yarrow though you can keep your action; the attack still mises but he can't attack you, as he's already attacked Vanessa this turn.

Spoiler:
(That's actually not an extreme. In DG crits are 01 and double numbers for what would be a normal success for you. So if you had askill of 40, 01, 11, 22, and 33 would all be crits. Crit fails would be doubles on normal fails for a skill.)

Though Chaz mises with the axe, he can see that Yarrow's eyes widened when he attacked him with it. It looked like he was afraid of being hit with it.

Spoiler:
Sorry I neglected to roll SAN before: 67 SAN: 1d100 64

I would like to keep the roll; I take it then that Nik has resisted Yarrow's attack, so he should roll again to launch his own attack? He's prefer not to kill him.

Spoiler:
Yep. Yarrow was able to defend against all melee attacks with his fight back action, but he was only able to attack one of his attackers, if that makes sense. So he avoids Nik's attack but cannot retaliate.

OOC:   New round. Chaz, you're up.

Yarrow sees Nik coming and tries to swing the axe at him, but the agent moves out of the way at the last second. Taking advantage of the opening, he uses the professor's momentum against him and yanks the axe out of Yarrow's grip.

OOC:   Yep, Chaz and Nik have both gone, so it's Vanessa's turn now. Yarrow just used his action to fight back and failed and is now disarmed, so once she goes we'll start a new round.

Despite being grievously wounded, Vanessa's law enforcement training kicks in, and she is able to restrain the professor and cuff him. He continues to resist however, and his broad frame is powerful that even without the axe he may be able to do some damage to the agents.

Spoiler:
In game terms, Yarrow is at -20 to attack rolls, while all attacks on him are at a +20 bonus. He's still however hostile.

New round, Chaz is up.

Chaz lays the axe at Yarrow chin looking for any reaction to the touch. "Whats inside that mirror Dr? or whomever is inside in this body"

OOC:   sorry for the very late response, in my mind i had posted, but seems it was a trick of my mind

Spoiler:
If Chaz actually wants to touch any part of Yarrow with the axe, he will need to make an attack roll with a +20 bonus with it because Yarrow is actively resisting. If you don't want to hurt him, I'll allow you to just roll to touch him and not roll damage. Do keep in mind that the professor is still hostile and shows no signs of trying to do anything other than murder you all.

OOC:   You get a +20 bonus, so that's actually a success. Cutting into his thigh will do damage however.

Chaz plugs the axe into Yarrow's thigh. It's a decent cut, though thankfully not deep enough to risk long term damage to the man. Immediately the professor lets out an inhuman yell. His eyes go unfocused,a nd he blinks, looking around confused. Then he moans as the pain hits him, and stops resisting.

Then something seems to occur to him. "The mirrors! Strike the mirrors!" he yells at Chaz. "They're the focal point!"

OOC:   There are ten mirrors in all. Chaz can destroy two of them a turn. Given they're stationary, no roll is necessary to hit them at the moment.

We're out of turn order for the time being, as there are no more hostile threats. Vanessa and Nik can still perform actions however.
