Chaz feels like Vanessa is mistaken about the axe. When he was possessed Yarrow seemed to fear it, and as soon as he stuck him with it it dispelled the effect he was under. It also seemed to destroy the mirrors when previously they had seemed indestructible.

OOC:   Let me just clarify where we are in the time line here. Chaz destroyed the 5th and 6th mirrors. In response, Vanessa drew her gun and ordered him to stop, and Nik drew his gun. 4 mirrors still remain.  


Chaz continues his destruction, feeling renewed in the fact that it is the right thing to do. Horrified, Vanessa draws her weapon and demands him to stop. The new Delta Green agent has no idea whether or not she'll fire on him, but she sounds serious...

Nik also draws his gun and questions Chaz. Yarrow's eyes widen. "Stop! You'll kill us all! Negative emotional energy upsets manifestations and renders them more likely to lash out!"

Spoiler:
As Chaz prepares to act, a figure appears in one of the mirrors in front of him. She is an old woman dressed in a nightgown. She smiles at him, but her eyes are bitter and full of hate. Slowly and methodically she unfolds a straight razor and holds it in her hands, examining it with dispassion.

Chaz, make a san roll for seeing this, 0/1d4. Then you may act.

That's a miss, since it's a called shot, which has a -20 penalty, though aiming may cancel out the penalty with a +20% bonus if there was enough time for that. I don't think there was, though. This is the same round.

Even as the shot rings out Nik is moving forward. He clouts Chaz on the back of his neck, hard, with the butt of his gun.

Chaz shatters another mirror. In response, Vanessa fires a shot at him, but it's hastily aimed and just misses the agent, striking the mirror he just destroyed. Chaz then destroys another one, leaving only two remaining.

Nik rushes Chaz and strikes him with his gun on the back of the neck. It barely hits, but is a solid blow and staggers Chaz, and he feels his grip on the axe slipping.

Spoiler:
Chaz takes 3 damage. Please make a luck roll. On a success you retain hold of the axe. Otherwise,you drop it. Assuming you retain hold of it you can attack with it again this turn.

The old woman is no longer visible in the mirror.

Still determined, Chaz aims for another mirror. Maybe it is the stress, or the fact that he is now being attacked, but it takes two swings before this one shatters. Now there is only one left- but Nik and Vanessa will get to act before he can finish the job.

As soon as the mirror is destroyed,a cacophony of sound fills the bedroom, and indeed the entire house. From the bathroom comes the sound of a woman screaming. She's saying something in French over and over. From the kitchen comes the sound of a couple arguing, and then a shotgun goes off. From somewhere else comes the sound of a cat howling in pain. And then there is the sound of several voices raised together as one, almost as though they are chanting.

Yarrow curls into a ball and begins to sob incoherently.

It makes sense to Chaz that this is yet another trick by the house. He's close to destroying the source of its power, so it's unleashing the full extent of its power in an effort to scare them off.

The sounds only confirm things to Vanessa. The time of this evil's release is very close. If Chaz destroys that last mirror it's all over and they- and perhaps the entire town- are doomed. Given his fervent desire to destroy the mirrors, he too may have fallen under the sway of the house, just like Yarrow had. In any case, there's no time to aim for a specific part of his body. She needs to take him out, or they're all dead.

OOC:   Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your perspective, that is a crit success. Roll another d10. Chaz only has one hp left, but if you roll low there's a chance he can still be resuscitated.

Sorry about this Anatomist, but Delta Green is an even deadlier version of CoC. :( The good news is we're near the end of the scenario and you can make a new character should the worst happen.
