Spoiler:
If you evade it in the first action, you can use your other two to take out the Whippoorwill. Otherwise, you should probably get out of there to keep the one in the Burned Ruins from entering. On my turn, I'll go back in the Hidden Chamber. If you successfully evaded, I can then use Sneak Attack and get stabby with my Switchblade (with some help from Overpower) to try to finish off the Nightgaunt.

I won't waste my Ward of Protection on Unhallowed Country. I don't have any Allies to play anyway.

Mythos Phase

Wendy Image

The monster turns on Wendy. "Oh, you are fugly!"

And then the track star stops dead. "Hey! I can't move. Sorry, little girl, but I can't move!"

"No such word as can't," says Wendy despairingly.

OOC:   Yeah, I'll do that, evade, and then kill the Whippoorwill.

Spoiler:
Hopefully you can succeed on the first evade attempt, as you'll need two actions (and two resources) to play the Lantern and use it. If it doesn't work, then you can try again to evade and get out of there.

The fugly thing slimes its way towards Wendy, trying to grasp her with its outstretched claws. She dodges away from it, she is so successful one can almost hear a Ping! as she skips off. Next she lights the lantern which she'd just found, and then she chucks it into the air with a mighty swing, aiming at the Whippoorwill; moments later its slightly charred form drops to the floor.

"And me," says the stuck track star, "do something about me."

Wendy tugs at his arm, but it's of no use, she's just glad it's not any worse.

Turn 8 Investigator Phase

Sefina rushes back into the hidden chamber and stabs the creature in the back while Wendy has it distracted, causing serious damage. She tries to finish it off, but now that it is aware of her presence, it is not so easy to hit.

Spoiler:
Action 1: Move to The Hidden Chamber
Action 2: Play Sneak Attack, spending 2 resources. 2 damage dealt to Hunting Nightgaunt.

The injured thing turns on Sefina. "Maybe," thinks Wendy, "just maybe, we can do it--the task set out before us of finding those clues. What else could go wrong?" Another thing, this one as fugly as the first, clambers down the steps to the chamber, and turns its attentions upon Wendy. "Barneymuggin!" she whispers despairingly.

Turn 9 Mythos Phase

Sefina backs away from the horror before her, only to be grabbed from behind by the hooded figure that had attacked her before. With a scream, she wrenches free, her vest protecting her from harm. Snarling, the figure darts away.

Two of them?! We may be hooped. There's no way we can fight them both. I think our best bet is to keep trying to evade them and find the remaining clues as fast as possible, but I don't think it'll be fast enough to stop the sacrifice.

Thundering steps, then heavy treads upon the basement stairs.

"Yous two! Of all the unlikely..." the mobster trails off, his surprised look turning to one of malice. "Here, Bert, look what we got!"

"It's spotty nose. And a friend," remarks Wendy.

Spoiler:
Oh, nuts! Now we're each engaged with a Mobster and a Hunting Nightgaunt. We're going to have to get out of here and leave the Mobsters behind if we can. I can grab two of the remaining four clues with one action, leaving two left, which we can get if we kill the two Servants even if we're not in The Hidden Chamber. I'll have one action to spare to try to evade my Mobster, which I'll attempt first. Or I could try a Backstab, but I hate to waste it, especially since there's a good chance I'd miss. I think I'd rather evade. That will effectively put the Mobster out of action if I succeed unless Hunted Down is drawn. I'll have to use my third action to leave, no matter which monsters are engaged with me. I have a feeling that Silas is going to get loose once the agenda advances. Do you want to go first? If you're lucky, you might be able to evade both of your enemies and escape. Scrapper can help you a little with one of them.

Wendy drops, and then she scrambles underneath a table. But when she pops up on its other side the fugly thing is waiting. "Barneymuggin!" she thinks, "that move always works," so she dodges one way, a faint, then the other. It works, and the creature is left looking confused--that's if it had a face, but you know what I mean.

"I need to get outta here," she mutters, and despite the looming Bert the Mobster, races for the steps. The bully takes a swipe at the girl with his lead pipe, (the bastard), and catches her on her ankle as she sprints past; now the wound isn't too bad, but that God-awful Psychopomp swoops down and pecks, like a woodpecker, at her wound, this is almost the last straw and her spirits sink to an all time low.

She makes it to the Burned Ruins, limping and, almost, gibbering too.

Spoiler:
I thought you were going to evade the Mobster. The Hunting Nightgaunt will follow us out eventually regardless, but the Mobster would be stuck in The Hidden Chamber, where we (hopefully) don't need to return. You'd lose an extra Sanity, but Peter could take that hit for you. You're going to get hit when the monsters attack us regardless, so Peter will have to sacrifice himself for you, but he'll go down regardless of which enemy hits him.
