Turn 2 Mythos Phase

As Sefina is poking around, a figure in a dark hooded robe comes up behind her and seizes her about the waist, trying to drag her away! She screams and struggles, and she hears the sound of approaching footsteps. Her would-be abductor throws her roughly to the ground and flees.

Spoiler:
Oh, awesome! There's actually a computer game where you play a character based on Violette Szabo called Velvet Assassin. I bought a disc copy several years ago, but I never got around to playing it. It's currently on sale on Steam for the next 22 hours and change for 50 cents. I bought it there too, as I discovered that the physical copy uses Starforce, which is essentially malware disguised as DRM. The Steam version doesn't have it. There's also a great British drama called Wish Me Luck that aired from 1988-90 about the women of the SOE, which I have on DVD. I've just started rewatching it. Since it's been over 6 years and I've forgotten the details, it's like seeing it again for the first time. I told Alex White and the other playtesters about it. He had never seen it before and wants to watch it, and Diana, the playtester whose character I saved, was also very interested.

While I could use Ward of Protection via The Painted World, I don't think it's worth it for this. I can take 2 damage, as I have the Bulletproof Vest and can play it next turn. I think I should go first and find the second clue, revealing the encounter card. If it's the Hidden Chamber, you can just move in and unlock it on your turn. If not, you're free to head to the House in the Reeds and search there while I proceed to Bishop's Brook so we can cover more ground faster.

OOC:   If the game comes to Kickstarter, give me a shout.

Sounds good! One never knows, Sefina may be atop the Hidden Chamber.

Wendy finishes at the Schoolhouse, exiting the gloomy hut she feels glad that she never had the chance of going to school. The next stop... She steps gingerly through sopping wet grass and sticky mud to the House in the Reeds. "What a dismal hovel," she thinks.

Peering inside her eyes meet those of a diseased lunatic who is happily defacating in the corner against the wainscot. "Pardon," Wendy says quickly. He hikes up his trousers--"God! he hasn't finished!"--and grabs hold of a pitchfork. Wendy is left in no doubt of his intent. She skips inside, ducking and weaving, and the confused fool actually treads in his own mess! He skids, and crashes down upon the floorboards. "What a chump!" She wants to make a Sneak Attack, but something...anyway, he stinks.

Looking around she sees a spotty cube, like a dice, upon the table. Looney must have been examining it when he was "caught short," she thinks, and so, guessing that it may be of use, she snatches it up.

Through the split planks Wendy catches a flash of movement, someone outside? and now voices too; she sees two unshaven and receding chins, and she hears harsh laughter. "I'd best put a shift on," she thinks.

"Where'd dat li'l kid get to, Waylan?"

"Dunno. I wan' me a piggy. Hur! hur!"

"I goes second. I like 'em warm and wriggly, mind!"

Spoiler:
There are still 2 clues at Bishop's Brook. I haven't started investigating there yet, as I spent my third action last turn playing Bulletproof Vest. I think I should play The Painted World as Ward of Protection now to cancel Ancient Evils. That will buy us an entire additional turn before the agenda advances.

This turn you should probably go first to evade and try to find that last clue in the House in the Reeds and reveal the encounter card. If that turns out to be the Hidden Chamber, you can enter immediately. If not, it must be in either Bishop's Brook or the Burned Ruins.

3 Move to the Schoolhouse.

Nimbly, so as not to attract the attention of the two beasts outside, Wendy dodges around the House in the Reeds; its actually quite easy to evade the pitchfork wielding lunatic. She discovers another dice, she now has a pair, and rolls them upon the uneven floorboards. "Two," she cries, "'snake eyes,' that can't be good!" and a chill shivers down her spine. "Time to go back to school." She escapes via an enormous crack in the wall, crouching in the reeds, and finally she runs away.

Turn 3 Mythos Phase

Sefina feels as though she has just walked over her own grave. She quickly makes an arcane gesture against evil and proceeds, but she gets the impression that evil is still occurring somewhere else.

Spoiler:
Fast Action: Play The Painted World as Ward of Protection, spending 1 resource and taking 1 horror. Revelation effect of Ancient Evils is canceled.

It's a good thing I did that, considering you just revealed another one!

Turn 3 Investigator Phase

Sefina thoroughly explores the area for clues. Her flashlight's batteries die out, but that doesn't stop her from finding everything there is to find.

I just got the new edition of Arkham Horror yesterday. I'm hoping I'll have time to learn how to play and give it a try over the next few days. I also picked up Fate of the Elder Gods, the 7th edition Keeper's book, and Alone Against the Dark at the same time.
