Spoiler:
I'd like to wait, so that I can see what you manage to accomplish before I go. That way, if I have actions left after dealing with the Young Psychopath, I can decide what to do with them based on that.

Engram's Oath
Mythos
Story
Remember that you "interviewed Constance."
Flip this card back over to its Bystander asset side.
It doesn't take long for the amiable hostess to open up to you about the play. "Oh yes, my husband and I helped Sebastien produce the whole thing," she explains. "I was a little hesitant at first, but that director - Mr. Nigel Engram - my, what a talented man!" She laughs. "He's so very eccentric! Did you know, before rehearsals even began, he had us recite some kind of… Why, I suppose it was an oath of sorts. A formality, I guess. You know creative types and their silly rituals. But afterward, we were filled with so much spirit!" She smiles, zeal in her eyes. "From that moment on, we had no hesitations. The King in Yellow would be the most successful performance in Arkham history!"
The Path to Carcosa #76.

"Are you okay, Mr. Withers?" asks Constance, looking most concerned when Withers frowns and holds his brow between thumb and forefinger

"Migraine coming on" he explains, then he looks up and smiles thinly "but not yet" He changes the subject "Your Mr. Engram sounds quite a card--I can see that you think so too! I wonder if we could meet?"

Turn 7 Investigator Phase

With a bloodcurdling scream, a young knife-wielding woman lunges at Mark. He whirls and fires, dropping her with a single shot. "Why do women keep trying to kill me?" he wonders aloud. He hurries toward the distant sound of screaming, through the courtyard and into the dining room.

Spoiler:
Well done! 8-)

Withers excuses himself and walks over to the arrival.

"Hungry?" he asks, but then he qualifies that “I'd avoid the canapés, if I were you"

A big gorilla of a man in a black suit with a bulge that is obviously a gun comes up to Mark. "Your bill's come due, Mr. Harrigan," he said in a menacing tone. "With interest."

Spoiler:
Gain 1 resource and draw 1 card.
I can take care of both of our enemies this turn, provided encounter cards don't get in the way.

Spoiler:
You're welcome. It might be better to interview Ishimaru Haruko first, before he goes all monstery. Every time one of the bystanders is interviewed, we make a note of it, so it will probably be important later. The Man in the Pallid Mask is there too, so getting rid of him could also help.

Turn 8 Mythos Phase

A crazed-looking man runs at Mark, screaming incoherently. The policeman accompanying him intercepts the man, only to get punched in the gut.

Spoiler:
Beat Cop takes 1 damage. I draw 1 card.

Well, that's too many enemies for me to defeat next turn. I can take care of the other two and just take a hit from the Maniac later. I think I should go first so that I can take down Your Worst Nightmare and leave you free to go get clues and stuff. I won't be able to engage it, or I'll lose an action I'll need, but I'll only miss on tentacles.

Turn 8 Investigator Phase

"I'll be with you in a minute!" shouts Mark to the mob goon. "I'm a little busy!" He shoots the hideous monstrosity that is menacing Norman. It turns to swoop down on him, and he pulls the trigger again, only for the gun to click. Empty. Desperately, he throws the empty gun at the monster. To his amazement, this works, and it dissolves into nothingness.

"You're outta bullets," says the man in the suit, approaching Mark.

"But not money." Mark pulls a wad of cash out of his wallet and hands it him. "Will that cover it?"

"For now," said the man, grabbing the money and running off.

Spoiler:
Maybe you can finish off the Maniac on your turn. You did get "I've got a plan!" If not, I can take the hit with True Grit.

Action 1 Fight Maniac Image spending 3 resources. 5 +2[Fingerprint Kit and Magnifying Glass skill] vs Image chaos token -1 success! 4 damage dealt, Maniac defeated

Action 2 Play Image spending 4 resources

Action 3 Spend 1 supply from Thermos and heal 1 horror

Harrigan deals with two of them but that still leaves the Maniac. Withers cannot allow the lunatic to continue with his deadly intent so takes out his trusty wire. He thrusts it into a socket and then wraps it round the Maniac who is wet with his own blood. A flick of the switch and voilà, the Maniac almost literally explodes.

Withers clutches his head, he's suffered an awful lot. He takes up the Thermos which Marg prepared at breakfast that morning and sips the lukewarm malty drink

"Ahhh!"

Spoiler:
He sure is, but I can probably one-shot him with my shotgun when I do fight him. Unfortunately, I can't do it this turn, as I have to play an Emergency Cache first before I can play the Shotgun, and that doesn't leave me enough actions to both move and shoot.

Turn 9 Investigator Phase

"This way!" calls Mark, heading through the courtyard to the gallery. The vandalized artwork is disturbing, and the Japanese-looking lady does not even seem to notice or care. She is very elegantly dressed, however.

ImageImageImage

Spoiler:
I'll go with you to the Gallery. That way neither of us will be attacked this turn, and we'll be together in case True Grit is needed. Unfortunately, we can't Parley there this turn, and Dianne will follow us. Next turn I plan to play my shotgun, move to the Courtyard, and blow away Sebastien Moreau with it. Unfortunately the Shroud value is much higher there, so I hope I don't draw a squid there.

Action 1: Move to Courtyard
Action 2: Move to Gallery
Action 3: Play Emergency Cache. Gain 3 resources.

Will test (Will 3 + 1["Let me handle this!] = 4 vs. 2[Gallery]):
