To the Manor borne… (everyone)

A brutal murder has taken place in the small Highland village of Strathmorn. The accused claims that the ghosts from a local haunted manor are to blame!

Piqued by the alleged supernatural angle to the case, renowned Psychical Researcher, Harry Price, is seeking a team of responsible persons ‘of leisure and intelligence, intrepid, critical and unbiased’ to investigate the haunting.

Doesn’t that just sound like the sort of thing you’ve been looking for?

I thought we already searched the room with the coffins, but okay.

As Ascot patrolled the outside of the house, he realised that he was unable to watch the tree with the sheep and the door to the house at the same time.

As he strolled around the side of the house with the sheep, he also couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched…

The four of them trooped back into the house and into the room with the coffins, which they found in exactly the same state as they had left it.

Walking over to the other staircase Dr Douglas looked T the footsteps in the dust."These must be fairly recent as they are still fairly visible. Wonder if they are the police footprints?"
OOC:   can we tell how many footprints they are?

It appears that there are two sets of footprints going up and down the stairs nearest the door.

Ascot focuses on keeping the dead sheep in sight but staying as close to the manor as he can while doing that. Warily, he keeps his rifle in his hands. Periodically, he glances about at the surrounding trees, wondering what's watching him and looking for any movement.

"If they were police footprints, they'd be all over the place," says Bonnie. "They'd have searched every room. But, yes, let's follow them."

Ascot kept an eye out as he walked but he couldn’t see any movement.

The light wasn’t the best because of the small windows and the gloomy day but party could see two sets of footprints heading up the stairs, leading to the room with the statue. They stopped at the top of the staircase, then returned the way they had came.
OOC:   The body was found on the road to the village, not in the house itself.

Depending what we find here, i wouldn't mind having another look at that statue. Now that my nerves have calmed down. It was a most striking creation." Dr Douglas mentions as he walks up the stairs.

The forbidding-looking statue looked down upon them as before, minus its jaw which Hamish had deposited in the garden.

Holding up his lamp Dr Douglas inspects the statue, to see if they are any symbols or markings we may have missed.

A careful examination of the plinth of the statue revealed a panel that moved to one side. Hidden behind it, in a small alcove, was a worn, handwritten notebook.
