Investigators

A brutal murder has taken place in the small Highland village of Strathmorn. The accused claims that the ghosts from a local haunted manor are to blame!

Piqued by the alleged supernatural angle to the case, renowned Psychical Researcher, Harry Price, is seeking a team of responsible persons ‘of leisure and intelligence, intrepid, critical and unbiased’ to investigate the haunting.

Doesn’t that just sound like the sort of thing you’ve been looking for?

My character is called Ruairi (Roo-Ree) Douglas. He is a 38yr old Doctor. Born in Dumfries and lives in a small village called Langholm on the Scottish Borders. He's 5ft 11 broadly built, has a gentle demeanour and a love of the outdoors as being brought up in the beautiful Scottish country side with its varied flora and fauna.
Educated at the Royal Medical college Edinburgh he is treated as an outsider by the village because of him leaving to go to the City, rather than tend to his families farm or work in one of the many textile mills in the area. They think he looks down on them which isnt the case, all he wanted was a chance of a different life. Currently in London attending seminars on new wonder drugs, medical procedures where he came across Harry Price and discussing his work. Expressing how many of his phenomenons could be easily explained by natural means known and unknown. He asked me to accompany him north of the border, because of my local knowledge and to put my theories to the test.

Father Eamon Ó Shaban, Priest of the Diocesis of Boston.

As a known frail old man, and historical expert, Father Ó Shaban has always had a vast array of plausible excuses to go in vacations along the world. Known as a considerable socialite, and present in a considerable amount of historical, and even more egypt related ones, conventions, Father Ó Shaban has always been given to travel as the wind sailed.
In other realities, he even saved the world, mostly by himself, while at it. But not in this situation.

While in a historical conference in London he learned of what he would call a "almuhtal aldijal", only so no one could understand what he meant with that, the "estimated Dr" Harry Price.
As a men of the cloth, the supernatural explanations of the Dr seemed quite the nonsense, in the world of the Lord, only those things allowed by the Lord could exist, and as such ghost were nonsense, demons or alucinations were the most reasonable explanation.

So with almost childish glee, Father Ó Shaban discovered about the most recent of the investigation of the man, and decide to join. For there was nothing but fun available when mocking a supertisious man.

Unfortunately for him, his extension for his vacation required some work to be done, and so he had to let his Grand Nephew, Baoth Ó Shaban(Also his Chauffeur), behind in London taking care of some serious issues while he went in the scottish countryside. It was quite the unfortunate and complicated circunstance, that was for sure.
Maybe being paranoid, or maybe not, the man of the cloth was considering if there was need for a weapon, or if he should try to pay for some kind of helper. After all, countryside locals never are the most welcoming to faraway foreigners, and he was a frail old man. Time would tell what he would decide.

Hugo Ascot is a large, bluff, hearty gent, heavily tanned and with a clipped, military moustache. He speaks with a distinct African accent and laughs often.

Hugo was born in British Rhodesia to a genteel family of now limited means. After military service in the War as a junior officer with the South African regiments, Hugo joined HM Colonial Service. Five years later, realising he lacked the requisite education to go far with the Service, Hugo resigned. Since then he has led hunting expeditions across Africa. Now based in London, Hugo arranges and leads such forays for the Great and the Good.

Bonnie MacKenzie is a dilettante from Inverness. With plenty of time on her hands and money to spend, she has always been fascinated by cars. She not only drives them, she maintains and modifies them. While some people think it isn't very ladylike for her to be up to her elbows in grease, she doesn't really care what other people think about her. She is currently in London to attend an auto show and see the latest in vehicular technology when she happened to hear about a mystery in her own backyard. Her natural curiosity has led her to investigate.

Caitríona Mac an Bhaird, AKA Cait Ward
Born in Galway, Ireland in 1906, Cait was the only child of two staunch Irish independence supporters. Raised strongly Roman Catholic, she had a normal upbringing until 1919, when her father joined the Irish Republican Army. Her mother became a supporter, hosting fundraisers, dinners, and even aiding in medical and seamstress duties. Her father was killed in 1922 as a casualty of the Irish War of Independence, right before the establishment of the Irish Free State. In a tragic fugue depressive state, her mother committed suicide. As Cait was only sixteen, she was then sent to live with an Anglican English family in London, allegedly friends of the family. Her two years with them were not horrible, but she was miserable and left as soon as she could, securing a place studying forensic medicine and science at the University of Edinburgh. Nowadays Cait splits her time between Ireland, England, and Scotland, researching forensics at any institute that will take her—due to her young age, she has yet to find her foothold. She heard about the mysterious crime in the London Gazette and, as always, is fascinated by the thought of investigating a murder, especially one with a potentially supernatural air. She has a curious mind and is perhaps sometimes too overeager when it comes to social interactions; that being said, she still possesses the heart of an Irish nationalist, but tries to keep her prejudices at bay.
