Nice rolls, overall. Can I ask for any more details about the students? I'm thinking of playing a friend of one of them, not sure yet on his major.

They're Botany juniors, but if you're thinking of playing another student with a different major, they might always know each other through a club or society. One of them works at a florists.

I’m thinking of playing an older Police detective. Would that work?

Not police I'm afraid. The police are involved from the very beginning, and the investigators will be running a parallel investigation, so for me it would be like running two different games at the same time - too complicated!

Fair enough. What about a younger university professor, sent by the university to find out what happened/make sure that the university can’t be blamed for anything?

A professor is fine. There's no hint of scandal about this though, it first appears as a tragic accident. Investigators are most likely to be acting out of concern for the students' safety.

No problem. I was just imagining what public institutions can be like if there’s any hint of bad news that might be attached to their name.

I was thinking of playing a medical student, though my rolls were so good and his score in medicine was so high I was considering making him a professor instead. If you're alright with a prodigy I'll just keep him a student though, as I don't think the group particularly needs two professors. Is it alright if he has points in shotgun? You said the scenario was deadly so I wanted to give him some way of defending himself, and I figured that he liked to hunt and was pretty good at it. Failing that, happy to shift the points to handgun.

Either is fine - if he's a student, then perhaps a grad student in his last year would be suitable. Having two professors doesn't matter. Shotgun is okay too.

A wee bit maybe. Bring it down to 90? He / she must be an expert in their field.

My guy's own edu is 19, so we clearly have a few geniuses among us.

Do you know what sort of professor you'd like to play, Philulhu? Henry is going to probably be a medical grad student, so if you were interested and your character was a professor of anything in the sciences maybe he could work for him.

Alice "only" has 16 EDU. She's also pretty good with a shotgun. She started at the base of 30%, but she's been through several adventures and used one to good effect, earning her some big increases.

SilverPriest - I was thinking Natural History and Geology as specialisms, as that would link to the Botany studies the students were undertaking. Might also be useful for tramping around in the woods.

I’m not sure if that works with your medical grad student, but there could be a link through the university debating society, for example?

HoneyDog- I’ll drop EDU and perhaps put the point into APP so he doesn’t scare people off wherever he goes...

Sure, the debating society idea sounds good.

May I join? If so, are there any character types/skill sets that need covering? I’m happy to roll up any sort.

I'm interested, but I know the scenario from reading it a while back. If that's something you'd rather avoid, I understand.

Welcome! Any kind of character, apart from police, is fine. They don't have to be connected with the university or the missing student, just civic-minded enough to want to join in the search.

Great! Paste him in the character thread. This will take place shortly after the events of 'A Little Knowledge', so update him if you need to.
