Re: OOC Discussion
So I have expeditions actions as:
Baxter: an impale hit at 9-5=4 damage, bringing croc to 22/10 HP
Burton is up!
Tabs> If you want to leap on the thing, I would suggest a Jump Roll.
Success means you can try a Knife Roll, but with a bonus of +20% to the attack and an extra +1D4 Damage from the force of leaping on the thing.
Failure by less than 20 means you land either on the beasts back or on the ground (your choice), but take no damage nor an opportunity for an attack (this round). Being on the ground gives you, of course, a position of advantage over the beast but also means you might get rudely thrown off.
Failure by more than 20 means a clumsy fall to the ground and 1D3 HP Damage from bumps and bruises.
Singh is going to try the same thing; 1d100=79 but crashes off the beast, rudely thrown away taking 1d3=1 minor damage. Singh is at 13/12 HP.

Burton leaping at the croc. Jump 25% [dice]0[/dice]
Oooooooh! What next? Um, he'll land on the beasts back.

Re: OOC Discussion
I am fairly sure you bumped up Burton Jump to 40%!
Meaning a free knife attack at +20% and +1d4 damage!

Sure - I was presuming that was an action?Mr. Handy wrote:What happened with my action last round? Did I manage to retrieve my rifle?
Re: OOC Discussion
Thanks! I hadn't known that my action succeeded, since it wasn't mentioned in the update. I'll go ahead and shoot now.

Re: OOC Discussion
Cool, sorry for delay (busy weekend).
Thats another 1HP to the Croc, and its down to 22/9HP damage.
I believe Baxter is up, then Ill do Singh, Emelia, and Croc if thats ok?
Priest: I think Baxter may be holding fire this round, which is noble of you! If you do want to fire its point blank which means you technically have a 90% chance to hit, but its a fair point that the mad Burton is blocking some of the Croc. Pulling rules out of the air I would suggest you can go down to an 80% chance to hit the beast, and a miss means a luck roll for Burton to avoid getting hit?, or you could take careful aim to make damn sure you don't hit Burton, but go down to a regular 45% hit chance (and maybe only hit Burton on a 100 roll).

Re: OOC Discussion
"Go on, man, do it!" rasps Burton inside Baxter's mind.
Re: OOC Discussion
Okay, Baxter fires at point blank. Allowing for Burton being in the way - 80%
fire pistol at crocodie - 80%: 1d100 96 Whoops! "Damn you Burton you're blocking my shot"
Handgun Damage 1d10: 1d10 6 Ow!! that's gotta hurt. Sorry

Re: OOC Discussion
Is Burton conscious?
Re: OOC Discussion
Oh dear!
That will technically knock Burton out! Having said that, I am inclined to waive the knockout rule on the basis of the type of damage. Knockouts work well for fists, clubs, and impacts. Bullets very rarely knock someone out (and if they do, they are probably minutes away from dying anyway). I hope thats ok with you guys. You may wish to say Burton passes out in a minute or two from blood loss but that is just narrative flavour at this stage.
Tabs> Feel free to edit your post as you wish; you can choose where you get hit (and thus get a scar and war wound and so on and so forth!)
Emelia gets a shot in, at point blank range: Untrained that would be a 50% chance to hit: 1d100=38 and she does so. Using the .30 Carbine rules however it is a pathetic 2d6=2 damage, meaning crocodile is unhurt.
Singh heroically leaps to stab the thing: at this point, given the crocodile is effectively flanked from several sides and is fired from above, I am giving a +10% bonus to all melee attacks. 1d100=93 and he fails.
The Crocodile bites Emelia: 1d100=12! And that is a nasty 2d6+1d10=10 which is "relatively" mild. I have her HP at 11 (SIZ 10, CON 12) so that is enough to put her unconscious but not dead!
the investigators are now up!

Burton stabs again, this time in the eye [dice]0[/dice]
Hoorah! He'll ram the knife home, hopefully pricking the crocs. brain.
1d4 damage? [dice]1[/dice]

Re: OOC Discussion
Just off an impale; however, I am inclined to run with the narrative and give Burton the impale due to situation - being on top of the crocodile and specifically aiming for the eye on an otherwise unintelligent beast I think warrants a x2 chance of impale.
and for a good old fighting knife like a bowie knife, its 1D4+2 Damage, so taking your above roll for 6, and adding 1d4+2=3 for the impale, is 9 damage, -5 for amour = 4 total.
That almost, but not quite, shocks it.
Croc is now 22/5 HP
Baxter is up again, if he fancies finishing offBurton, Crocodile.
Then Ill roll Singh and its back to killer Croc.

Re: OOC Discussion
Where's Priest? I don't mind waiting though.
Re: OOC Discussion
Hasn't logged since last Tuesday which is a bit odd.
I hope nothing serious.
In any case I would suggest another week before we work out a contingency.
Fingers crossed he is ok

Apologies chaps, been having a few computer issues. Hopefully all sorted now so will update Baxters progress this weekend.

Baxter will fire at the crocodile again, although this time he will aim better and take the 45% chance.
fire pistol at crocodie - 45%: 1d100 68 Damn missed the blighter and Burton both!
