Carl is a so-called “dry ball” that is, he has an extremely small sense of

Xavier is a really surly and unsympathetic person who unfortunately has become
chief of ops at Station 10 though it is not a job that he likes. Earlier he was
operating manager on the main station “McMurdo”
until he happened to get a little too drunk and did some inappropriate things
that his former staff managed to turn on him. As punishment, he was
demoted to his current post. His favorite pastime is now messing with his
staff and that is something he does whenever he gets the chance. He dislikes
that his staff take too much initiative because he is afraid of losing
control and getting demoted even further. This means that he
often check what everyone is doing and trying to “fix” things that
if not made in a manner that he approves. Before he began working on
Antarctica, he was a helicopter pilot for the French army.
