This thread will serve as a slumbering place for describing and linking to all real life collectibles and music and trailers for Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness" and also Chaosium's "Beyond the Mountains of Madness". Please, do not post any links or photos of items that would be spoilers.

I really enjoy seeing the various collectibles and videos and photos that some folks have found, and also enjoy listening to any related spellbinding musical scores. Feel free to post your own favorites! I'll keep an index of these in this thread.

SPOILER ALERT!
This is a short movie from the Book At the Mountain of Madness. I will recommend you to NOT see the movie if you have NOT read the book.

As allways Job should rule if this link stays :)
  • EDIT from JOB - If you can avoid temptation, please do not watch this video at this time. There will come a time during the campaign when this becomes important and I'll alert you to watch it at that time. Meanwhile, be aware that the "At the Mountains of Madness" story will come up later and will be discussed by your characters, so be patient. :? I'll leave the link here so that we don't lose it. Thanks Anatomist!

Hi folks! I'm considering signing up for this trip. I remember being in contact with Chaz Engan regarding a project and was directed to his yahoo groups site. There he had a few newspaper clippings from the expedition.

They might be old news to you but here they are:

Cheers!

Yeah, I'll also need to add this! I'm tempted by that Cthulhu idol, but $100... *sigh*

I actually backed the kickstarter for the 7th edition and will be getting a copy. I'm not certain what rules we'll use though. You players won't need to worry about new, strange rules popping up right away. You can keep your focus on strange creatures popping up in Antarctica.

I hope you haven't actually bought it! Nobody's supposed to pay $500 for the backer proof. Chaosium just set a ridiculous price on the backer proof because there has to be a price to put it in their store. Kickstarter backers get a special discount code that allows them to download it for free. Non-backers will just have to wait until it's officially released.

I've heard the release date is supposed to be October 31. You can check the Kickstarter page to see what the PDF/softcover/hardcover for the investigator's and Keeper's books' prices were for backers, and it's probably a good guess that the retail price will be a little higher. There's an article on Yog-Sothoth.com here. The Source link had originally pointed to a backer-only update that actually revealed the backer code, but they've fixed that.
