To make matters worse, the cultists of Hastur find out and want it too. With the investigators in the middle of two murderous and opposing cults, they'll be hard pressed to protect the strange artifacts that have been found, let alone themselves and the world.

    Ghastly Murder

    Police horrified by ferocious attack

    The body of Miss Hannah Pickering, 20, was found at 1:00 a.m. this morning beside North Garrison Road, near the town dump. The victim had been dead for less than an hour when discovered, officials say. Police Officer Edmund Hallicot, who discovered the body said "I have never seen so horrible a sight. Whoever did this was an animal." The reporter understands that the nature of the attack was brutal in the extreme, and that details are not fit for publication in a family newspaper. The perpetrator of the deed as yet remains unknown and at large.

    Far away, in a shaded park in Vienna, a Crown Prince has allegedly committed suicide along with his lover. His personal valet runs to hide in London and ends up dying under equally mysterious circumstances. Several pages from the personal diary of the late Crown Prince arrive in a hastily wrapped package on the doorsteps of one of the players. From this spans a European wide conspiracy that will enrapt the players in a plot to unleash a terrific horror from beyond space and time.
