NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
Charlie just gives a grunt. It is not clear if it is one of approval or not.
Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
Bernard nods his thanks to the people in the car. "Much obliged." He helps Melissa into her seat and attempts to keep the girl calm. Once steeled he looks around the car.
"Reality shifts? Is that what's going on? Makes sense as much as anything. This lady beside me thinks the hospital is occupied by physical manifestations of our fears. She suggested the observatory as a key to this mess, and another possible focus that she didn't know. I couldn't make much sense of it."

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
Jill glances warily at Charlie, and then says, "I don't know. But I was in the same version of the hospital as you, it sounds like it at least, and then I woke up to find myself in this world, where I'd been in a coma. And somehow Louie," she nods to indicate the man she's speaking of, "he's been back and forth."

Louie waves and smiles at the mention of his name.

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
The pregnant woman in the front seat winces a little and clutches at her belly. Both women stay silent during this interchange.
Is it bad that I listen to this about ten times a day?

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
Louie looks around at the now cramped conditions, and moves his shotgun so others can fit. Good thing it's sawed off. So what was the last thing you guys remember about the hospital.

OCC: Charlie's there, just not very talkative. not a very compationate man. I'd suspect that the nurse would do well to check up on ze huffing and puffing woman.

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
The traffic begins to move at a faster pace as whatever caused the back up of traffic must have been cleared from the road.

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
Louie starts to get excited when the traffic moves. Ooo...ooo Here we go. Leaning towards the driver seat he pats Charlie on the shoulder and speaks to him. Are we there yet...I mean where are we going. The observatory, or the library.

Jill keeps silent and waits to see what Charlie decides.

The library. The observatory is outside of London.

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
Louie leans over the seat really close to Charlie. Are we there yet?

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
Charlie's grip on the steering wheel tightens and his knuckles turn white. He keeps his gaze strictly facing forward.
"Shut the fuck up." he says slowly and coldly, without a hint of emotion in his voice.

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
The traffic is clear and easy but the tension inside the car becomes unbelievably intense. The pregnant woman stiffens, too, as though detecting an imperceptible shift in group dynamics that had just suddenly occured.

Re: NOR - Jill & Charlie's thread
Louie sits back a moment and thinks. Something about Charlie has been bugging him from the beginning, and it's right on the edge of his thoughts. Suddenly it hits him like a hammer and the weight of the realization pins him to his seat momentarily. His temper. Her bruises that Louie saw, what seems like so long ago. She lied to him about it, but Louie knew. His father used to beat his mother, and him. There's no hiding that from someone who's been through it.
Louie's heated gaze threatens to burn a hole in the back of Charlies head as he grasps his shot gun in both hands. He keeps it lowered, but is ready to strike at a moments notice. With menace in his voice, that shocks even him he confronts the man. So Charlie how long have you been beating your wife. The clicking of a shotgun being cocked sounds through the cab of the car. Does it make you feel like a big man?
