Deadlands vs Old West Cthulhu
Deadlands vs Old West Cthulhu
I am thinking of a campaign- set in around 1890 in the American West, probably Northern Rocky Mountain country. Not sure if I should go with Cthulhu rules (do they have a frontier version?) or Deadlands. Deadlands seems an alternative universe while Gaslight rules don't seem to fit this area. Any suggestions?

First: if you do end up running this, I'd love to play in it.
Second:
A few of my friends have Deadlands and swear by it for running Weird West type games. I have no experience playing and don't have any of the books, so I don't know anything except what they've told me.
You could also run it using Dogs in the Vineyard. Though I'm not sure how the dice mechanic of calling and raising would work in a PBP game.

I might be interested. I always wanted to try Deadlands, and to top that off with Cthulhu Mythos? Wunderbar :]
