"Shall we try the other doors first, and see which ones we can open? Then we can come back to that door." Ascot moves onto the next door.

[Mr. Handy]

"Aye," says Bonnie, covering the next door. "If we cannae get the stuck door open later, I can always use my tools to remove the hinges."

Dr Douglas nods and moves on to the next door. Nodding at the pair as he grips the handle, breathing deeply, he starts to.count.

It was the door to the bottom right which was stuck. The one you’re currently trying is top right, which leads onto…

The door opened onto another balcony akin to the battlement of a castle with a crenellated wall that offered a view up the hill behind the house. There were no pigeons on this side.

Without stepping onto the balcony, Ascot peers out suspiciously. "I hate those pigeons, winged vermin. More importantly, I don't know how much I'd trust these balconies to not fall."

Is there anything odd to be seen in the surrounding countryside from this elevation? Weird temples, stone circles etc?

"Right," says Bonnie, "if the balcony's empty, then let's try to open the stuck door."

The balconies are more like the battlements you would see on medieval castles. They are part of the fabric of the building and are constructed with stone floors and walls. They aren’t going anywhere - they’re probably still there now (if it weren’t for the fact it’s a made-up location…)

Ascot doesn’t see any eldritch structures in the woods around the house.

[Snapper]

Ascot heads over to the barred door and inspects it.

OOC:   Are there wooden boards that can be prized off to open the door? Does it look like it could just be broken down?

The door appears to be barred from the inside...

Ascot holsters his revolver, takes a run up and shoulder slams the door...

Bonnie hopes this will work, but she's ready with her tools if it doesn't. And if that won't work, someone will have to go out on the balcony and climb around to one of the room's windows in order to open the door from the inside. She has her rifle ready in case there's anything hostile on the other side.

Father Ó Shaban after hearing that decided to bring the young man in the room yo the job.

And so indicated to the scottish laddie he was paying yo break down the door.

Hamish lumbered forward, looked at the door, looked at Father Ó Shaban, and shrugged. He stepped back and shoved hard with his shoulder, trying to burst through…

There was a splintering noise and door gave way, leaving Hamish stumbling into the room with a sheepish look in his face…

"Well done!" says Bonnie.

[Snapper]

"Good work, lad. You're welcome in the back row of my rugby team any day." Ascot draws the revolver again and heads into the room.

Raiding his lantern Dr Douglas hurries behind Ascot attempting to illuminate as much of the room as he can. "Does anyone else think its odd that the door seemed to be locked from the inside?"

Lying against the wall at the far side of the room, was a body under a blanket. A quick perusal of the room suggested that the furniture (a bed and chest of drawers) had been used to barricade the door. Notches had been cut into the floor to provide anchor points for spars that had kept the furniture in place until 200lbs of prime Scottish beef had come barrelling through.

"Looks like someone was very afraid of something out there." Ruairi says as he makes his way over to the body. "Right, lets get a look at you, you poor devil." He goes to remove the blanket.
