WW2 Call of Cthulhu
WW2 Call of Cthulhu
Hello all,
I'm starting up a World War 2 Call of Cthulhu game called 'Where Byakhee's Dare'. If you are interested, post here. I have characters already created, although I have no problem with people creating their own (with my approval of course). The game will be BRP and not d20.

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
I'd love to join in this game.
If you don't mind I'd like to reincarnate my gung-ho action hero John Crowe who previously died in Carcosa Rising, I suck at building characters quickly, and always take too long.
I'd obviously change him from a pilot to a soldier / officer, or whatever is required.
I guess he could even become an American if necessary.

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
I'm so tempted to join this one, but I may be stretching myself a bit thin. Before I can commit, I'd need to know how frequently players would be expected to post.

Thanks for asking that Mr. Handy. I forgot to post that.
I would expect people to post a couple times a week. Maybe 2-3.

i love ww2 movies so i'd probably base him loosely on a character from a film. my number one choice would be Ernest Borgnine

Hey there... if you're still looking... I'm interested. I can wing 2-3 times a week, easy. I'll be happy to take one of your pre-fab characters.

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
Mr. Handy, paradys, and myself are playing characters in the same thread in that 'meat grinder': Ash. Those guys are good, you won't regret having them.
It'll be a nice change to have some more to the story than just staying alive.

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
Thanks, Imp! You're good too. And I'm certain there's more to Ash's story than just staying alive; we've just been too busy trying not to get killed to experience much of it so far! And none of the PCs have actually died yet. Even Shilo is still alive (for now, anyway).
If it's 2-3 posts per week, I'm definitely in! Do you still want a PM from me, Trevlix? I'll probably create my own character unless I see a pre-gen I really like.
Raiko's John Crowe could be the son of the original John Crowe from Carcosa Rising (even one he never knew he had) - the timeframe is perfect. This would also explain why he's a) alive and b) not a pilot

true. i've read a bit of zombie apocalypse and in comparison our survival rates extremely high! either we're good or laraquas been taking it easy on us so far ( shivers ). the latter I think.

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
'Meat grinder'? Shucks! I'm sure it'll earn that title soon enough.
I like Mr. Handy's idea of John Crowe, if you don't mind me saying.
The game itself sounds really fun but I'm pretty much at my game limit.

Is it bad that I listen to this about ten times a day?

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
Yeah, Zombie Apocalypse sure is lethal. That's why everyone plays multiple characters. The survival rate for Chapter 1 was only 60%. Chapter 2 has had a much lower death toll so far, but that will likely change soon. Just let me know if you'd like to join in.
Thanks, Laraqua. I like the idea of linking different adventures in this way. I already did something of the sort in Zombie Apocalypse. In Chapter 2 there are cameos by two characters who you may recognize as descendants of characters from Lure of the Nile: Major Roland de Wolf III (the grandson of Lt. Roland de Wolf) and Captain Miranda Reynolds (great-granddaughter of Major Shane Reynolds). I also plan to have my own WWII adventure set in 1941 feature a Brigadier General Shane Reynolds in the intro, and a few characters will be ancestors of characters from Zombie Apocalypse.

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
What era is Zombie Apocalypse?
Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
It's Modern. It actually takes place in the near future, at some unspecified time during the next five years. The link to Chapter 1 is in my signature, and the link to Chapter 2 so far is at the end of that. It doesn't involve the Mythos as such (Welsh and I have developed our own mythology), but there are things in it that resemble Mythos elements. The characters are all pre-generated.

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
It's really cool to read! Though it takes a few moment ot wrap your head around. Really long posts in really long threads though. I go to page 5. Real interesting, but.

Thanks, Laraqua! I'm glad you enjoy it. Yes, it is a lot of reading. If that's Chapter 1 you're on, the action should start really heating up soon.

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
You mean it gets worse?!
Anyway, we should stop off-topicing this thread before we make the Keeper mad. This ain't the place for it. If you want me to kiss-ass (which I'm happy to do) Ash is the place for it. I do want to join up, eventually, but I want to catch up on the damn thing. Just got past those infernal mozzies!
Of course I know you're not after Kiss-assing, you're just genuiniely interested in what folk think about it.

I would be interested too.
Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
Don't worry - you're not upsetting me talking about Ash. I've actually been curious about it and wanted to know more.
LordKrieg - Cool. I just PM'd you.

Re: WW2 Call of Cthulhu
Any other takers. Right now we have 3 confirmed players and can take up to 3 more.
