"I have another clue. The guy that Tremayne arrested had this paper. Maybe we should go to Harvard library to see what book they Jackson was looking for?"- He shows the note.

West 23rd Street, New York

Jordan is stopped in his tracks and he grabs the young reporter by the lapels.
"Who I am?!", he bellows. "I'm bloody William Jordan, that's who I am! As for the rest of your questions, read a damn book!"
He glares around, steam almost coming from his ears.
"The damn lot of you!"

With that he storms off and into the Coffee Pot, rejoining the others.

"So, what did I miss?"
"He said we were all cooked but we were all right as long as we did not know it. We were all cooked. The thing was not to recognize it."

"Not too much," says Amy. "We're just starting to come up with ideas about areas of further inquiry. We should also talk to Jonah Kensington, Jackson's publisher. If anyone knew anything about what he'd been working on in Africa, it would be him. If we're very lucky, maybe he even sent him a manuscript."

Gerald seemed traumatised from his encounter with Elias' dead corpse. Irene found that he was unable to recall many things. She professed a lack of knowledge of the case and hoped that someone could help.

OOC:   Do any of the other dead folks' names mean anything to any of the team?

"Jonah's an okay guy, I'm sure you'll like him. He's my publisher too."

The author appeared to have calmed down considerably.

"We should also look into this Carlyle Expedition Elias mentioned."

"I've already started on that," says Amy. "As soon as I saw it mentioned in Jackson's telegram, I began doing research on the Carlyle Expedition. I thought he'd be happy to see I'd taken the initiative..." She dabs at her eyes. Once she recovers, she shares what she's learned.

"The information seems to be interesting. The occult symbol carved onto...Elias' head certainly seemed to suggest occult activity. How it all ties together, I don't know but there seems to be some sort of connection between the two." Irene said.

James Marko downs the rest of his coffee.

“We have a lot to go on. Why don’t we all chase down our prospective leads, and meet back here tomorrow 4pm. I'll track down this N'Kwane character. What do you all say?”

"James, Gerald and I will help, I suppose." Irene said, planning to follow after James.

Jordan nods in agreement.

"I will go and visit Jonah at Prospero House. I think it's wise not to go about this Silas N'kwane business alone. Miss Lawrence, this is some proper work, I'm sure Elias would have been charmed. Maybe we should go and ask this Miss Erica Carlyle some questions and see what that turns up. Shall we gather back here in at ten am, the day after tomorrow?"

"I'll go with you, Mr. Jordan, and thank you," says Amy. "We should see Jonah Kensington first, and then go visit Miss Carlyle. After having read about her, I'm dying to meet her. She and I have much in common. She went to the ends of the Earth to find out what happened to her brother and bring his killers to justice, and I would do the same for Jackson."

For Archie,Archie remembers the news story about the dead PI Walter van Buskirk from last June when he was last in New York to visit Jackson. If he remembers correctly, Buskirk had been investigating the disappearance of the stockbroker's son Adolf Thurmond. Adolf's father William Thurmond III had also offered a reward of $100 at the time for any information about his son's whereabouts. Archie doesn't recall reading about Adolf's murder, so he's no idea whether it occurred close in time to Buskirk's death.
OOC,[ooc]Royya hasn't posted for a while. Assuming that he doesn't post something before you all spilt up, then we'll say that Clark travels with Anderson to Boston. Clark's from Boston, although I assume that a black face would be an unusual sight at Harvard in 1925. DL will tag along with one of the other two groups - preferably whichever one invites him along. :)[/ooc]

Tremayne scratches his head. "I feel like we have a large pile of jigsaw puzzle pieces but no idea how they fit together. And I wonder how much we should investigate ourselves, or just leave to the authorities."

"Two of those other murder victims the detective mentioned are connected. Walter Van Buskirk was a PI investigating the disappearance of Adolf Thurmond on behalf of Thurmond's father, some wealthy stock broker. One presumes the investigation took the PI to whomever did away with this Thurmond chap. It might be interesting to talk to the father, he may have some insight into activities the son was involved in, which perhaps led to his demise."

"Perhaps I can tackle that one. Shall we meet back here tomorrow night to compare notes?"
