Re: Chatroom
I was trying a different strategy earlier. I wanted to get Rooger not to go back to them, but to stay with us. Only when that didn't work did I throw my second firebomb. I didn't get to roll anything, so I thought there was no chance of my earlier idea working. Could I try rolling Fast Talk?

Re: Chatroom
Yes, please try!
Rooger knows the creatures - they've helped build his garden, and he is enthralled by their power over the weather conditions, plus their need for him in their ceremony. He doesn't know you. He's going to side with them unless convinced otherwise. He's selfish, but not necessarily a bad person.

Re: Chatroom
Well, that didn't work. Hopefully one of the others can pull it off, though I have by far the best Fast Talk skill.

Re: Chatroom
Persuade is also worth rolling, but he still needs a convincing reason.
Re: Chatroom
Can I do that now, or do I need to wait until next round?

Re: Chatroom
I miss every single combat and SAN roll but now I roll a 1.
Re: Chatroom
It's a good find though! Worth $500, if you get past the rather depressing fact of it.

Re: Chatroom
I'm travelling, so only sporadic access for the next four days!

Traveling again? You do get around! Check in when you can.
In answer to your question, I can't tell you how many creatures there are! Your characters cannot see them in the darkness. There were 6 surviving from earlier though.

Re: Chatroom
The adventure is effectively over. Your characters will want to think about what to do in the aftermath. It seems that you’ve stopped the fungusbees (thanks for that term Andy) from carrying out their plan, but there are of course loose ends to tie up.
I ended it this way to avoid a big combat which would probably have killed most of you. As you had already foiled their scheme by taking Rooger from them, it seemed fair. Your characters will live to fight another day, but this has cost them some sanity.

Poor Rooger! A real hero, though.HoneyDog wrote:Traveling again? You do get around! Check in when you can.
I'll post when I get back home tomorrow in the evening!

Re: Chatroom
Things seem to be quiet so I’ll keep it moving. I’ll play Balzac for Andy until he recovers.
Re: Chatroom
It's over folks, thanks for playing! I hope you enjoyed it.
The scenario seems to be set up to lead to combat, but as it's so one-sided, I tried to find an option where it could be solved without (much) violence. Hopefully the conclusion was satisfying.
The characters learned of an alien conspiracy, but not of the details. Still, they know that there are forces which defy natural laws that are active and conspiring against us. Even though they defeated the conspiracy, this knowledge is bound to impact on their sanity. You can roll 1d4 for SAN gain - the battle is not yet over.
Knowledge of the creatures, the name of Ithaqua and most importantly the piece of alien technology can give 2 points for Mythos, which should bring you all up to 3.
You also have the $500 reward, which the characters can distribute among themselves as they choose.
Please do your skill checks!
Thanks again.

Re: Chatroom
You're welcome, and thanks for running it! I enjoyed it. It was great that you were able to allow non-combat solutions, especially since combat would be so weighted against us. One Mi-Go we were able to handle (and it was awesome that Alice was able to get a solo kill on it), but there were simply too many of them for us to defeat.

I won't have time to go through the story and see which skills I've used successfully until the weekend. Have you been tracking them?

Re: Chatroom
Alice has Own Language, Credit Rating, Shotgun, Natural History, Throw, Persuade & Spot Hidden. Quite a lot!
I plan to try the last scenario from the 6th edition rule book, Dead Man Stomp, so you're all welcome to reprise your characters. It's a bit different - an urban setting, involving jazz and gangsters.

Re: Chatroom
I'm definitely up for that!
Alice also succeeded at Dodge, I recall. I'll want to double check this weekend to see if there are any others before I roll.

Re: Chatroom
This game was fun! I don't like the scenario that much, but I think HoneyDog as a Keeper and we all as players made it good I'd be happy to reprise my role as Isadora in another game.
I'll tally up my skill increases later.
