Here's an idea, Norman could Rest, open Stone Chest and examine Lost Treasure, any failures he Trades to Tony? There's already 2 Eldritch tokens on the Mystery.

Norman would have to be lead investigator for him to be able to trade with Tony.

Norman is going to rest and then move to Shanghai.

I'll need to Rest, both to heal up and to try to get rid of my Hunger. Then I'll probably go to Shanghai too (to gain Lore; I'll leave the Mystic Ruins for Norman), or I could gain a Focus. EIther way, if the Hunting Horror comes after me, I'll try to finish it off and gain all the goodies that come with doing so.

I haven't looked that the flipped Syzygy card so I will do a Shanghai Encounter if you think that is best.

Yes the Hunting Horror has taken 2 Heath damage.

Tony should only gain Health with resting with Hunger. No Sanity gain! Sorry.

Don't forget about Tony's Purifying the World card. It needs to be flipped.

It says you may flip the card, but you don't have to, and I chose not to flip it. I'll most likely get a bigger benefit if there are more monsters on the card, and I want to at least defeat the Goat Spawn before I flip it.

I hadn't realized that even though I defeated the Hunting Horror, I still took 1 damage from it, so I've corrected that.

That Artifact is awesome! That could help me soften up the Doppleganger so I (or someone else) can beat it in a fight - if I'm lucky enough on the Lore roll.

The monkey's paw is a commonly told story. It's an object that's supposed to grant wishes, but it's cursed: the wishes always have some sort of nasty twist when they come true. In some versions of the story, it's purchased from a shop just like the one in the Encounter. The Simpsons spoofed it in one of their Treehouse of Horror episodes.

Yes, re. Purifying the World, I thought the same as Quatermass when I first came across the card, but the payoff is incremental, for example if one flips with 1 Monster = defeat Monster on game board, 2 Monsters = close Gate, etc.

So if I read the AO card correctly every time the omen track advances to the red space the Mystic Ruins gets moved to a new space?

Yes, and the Omen is on the blue constellation [left-hand] at the moment. Good news is we only need succeed at 2 Sealing the Portal Special Encounters, bad news is Doom is 5--let's not forget Appeal to the Council in the Reserve.

Your special ability reduced the horror of encountered monsters to 1.

The Wendigo imposes a -1 to strength test. Even with the minus you still defeat it but you will take one damage.
