NOR - Mr. Zombie Killer

Its a warm day. Scatters of white cloud flutter across the broad pale blue sky. Birds twitter and sing in the trees that line the graveyard. A little girl, dressed all in pink, gawks at the crowd that surround Martin Wallace's grave. She clutches her mother's hand. Her mother is pale and wan.

The two had discovered the body while visiting the little girl's grandfather to lay flowers. The flowers, marigolds picked from the local primary school, were sitting on a neighbouring grave. The corpse, quite naked, lay on a the grave of interest. There were marigolds sitting in his eye sockets, his torn off ears, his mouth - the teeth broken and bloody stubs around them, and his gouged out genital region. His arms lay beneath him, as though clasped behind his back. There are rope marks around his neck and around his ankles. They hadn't checked his wrists yet. The photographers were almost finished. The Medical Examiner had checked to make sure the man was, indeed, dead.

"Well, it's all up to you now," said the Medical Examiner cheerily. He wasn't a local here. It seemed almost no one was local. Even the police station was only staffed part-time. Most people came from the neighbouring towns. "Think they'll make this a tourist attraction now?"

Rye, a town of historical significance, a town in East Sussex, a town that had been troubled so far with two other identical murders. A town with a curious amount of other intriguing information.

The Detective paused to wipe his brow. He sadly looked at the little girl and her mother
and then said, "Can I get a statement from you Miss and then someone will escort you home if you wish."
He then nodded to the ME and asked him to stay and help investigate the killing.

"Look, I did my job for now. It's up to you to pick up the pieces, search the body, and all that jazz." The Medical Examiner picked up his things and headed for his car.

"Um, yes, sure," said the mother.

The little girl merely put her thumb in her mouth.

The Detective turned and said to the women, "In case we have not been introduced my name is Charles Launceston. Now, can you tell me how you and your little girl came to find the body this fine morning?"

As he listened, Detective Charles walked around the body and tried to see if he saw any clues. He and saw some very intersting things.

OCC- how do I take the rolls from invisible castle and make them so that they blend into the text?

"We were just here to put flowers on grandpa's grave and we saw the body, about half an hour ago, and I made a call on my mobile," said the mother. "I've no idea when it got here."

The corpse smells like grandmothers mixed with normal corpses. Lavender? The corpse's blood has already pooled about the lower parts of the body, forming a darkish bruise near the earth. Its probably been here all night. There's no blood on any of the wounds, indicating that the corpse was either washed or mutilated post-mortem. It'd take an expert to work out which was which.

There's something glinting beneath the corpse. Something shiny and small.

Charles nodded and thanked the woman. He asked if she needed a ride home and told her that he or someone would be in touch if any questions needed to be asked later.
He then squatted down and looked closly beneith the corpse to see what was small and shiniy that caught his eye.

Its a ring bearing a family crest.

Charles bent over to pick up the ring with his pen making sure that he did not touch it even with his gloves. He looked at it in the light and saw the family crest on it. Charles did not have much of an education, except for those years spent at Oxford, but he had studied history and he thought he reconized the crest. Indeed he did reconize it out of the many crests he had seen over the years of education now as distant as yesterday's spoiled milk.

The family crest is Irish in origin representing the O'Connell family.

Charles thought for a second trying to remember what he knew of the family from his history classes. But he could not remember much about them.
Walking back to the ME he said, "Okay you may take the body now. I may be by to examine it again in a closed setting.
He then walked to his car and got into it starting it preparing to drive back to the office to look up info via computer on the family.

The detective's car passes a plain brown four door sedan containing three males coming the other way. A rather scrawny non-local person briefly catches his eye as he drives passed. The car radio comes on with a shriek of static that hurts his ears causing him to instinctively reach out to switch it off - though whether he does or doesn't is up to you.

The police station is in view at this point and he knows that whie the small town police department computers weren't what he was used to but at least he had broadband.

Charles pulled a u-turn and turned on his siren chasing after the car. He shut off the radio quickly as he drove trying to catch the car. Soon he came up right behind the car and flashed his lights trying to get the car to pull over. He also reached under his seat for his glock but then realized that he did not have a gun as British cops were not issued them. "Silly me watching Law and Order all the dang time" he thought!

The other car parks safely on the side of the road.

ENTER LEROY AND CARSON'S thread when you approach the car but post back in here once you return to the car or if you speak into the car radio.

Charles walked back to his car and keeping an eye on the car he pulled over he reached in his window and grabbed his radio. "Yeah this is Car 54, I need some info on a Boyd, Carson car registration number 24601. I also have info for the driver who is Watson, Leroy.

"Oh heck, 1 Adam 12, they just pulled away and I noticed a bloody smear on the right rear corner of the boot. I am in pursuit of the auto now. I can use all the assistance I can gather. Also please get me the info on the two criminals ASAP."

Charles turns his car on and gets it into gear. With sirens blaring he pulled after the car but he quickly lost it among the twists and turns of the road."One Adam 12, I have lost the vehicle. Will attempt to pick it up. Please send back up."

Charles gunned the engine as he tried to catch up to the murdering duo. However he still could not find the car.

"1 Adam 12, I have a APB on a brown car with 4 suspects in it. Three males and 1 female. Approach car with caution as there is blood on the trunk, possible body being carried in boot. Suspects are considered armed and dangerous. I have a 23153 with suspect vehicle and officer needs Code 30. Also I need the info on the people I license and car registration I sent to you. Please send a King up to help with pursut.

"You what?" asked the police sergeant, confused. They still hadn't gotten used to someone using the flashy uptown police terminology. "A helicopter? Well, I'll try. Get a few cops on the road for sure."

OOC: I sent you info on one of the suspects in a private message and info on the other was given in the other thread. Nothing on the third male but you didn't get his name so you couldn't check.

Charles continued to drive trying to find the car. He got on his radio, "Yeah 1 Adam 12, I have an APB for a Leroy Araon Watson. He is 23 years old and is the driver of the car. Riding in the car with him is a Carson Boyd. He is 33 years old and is from the US. There is also an unidentified male and a female with blond hair traveling with them."

Charles turned some random corners trying to find the car. A lucky turn and he saw them ahead of him! Blaring his siren and his lights he caught up to the car right behind them. "One Adam 12, I have the suspect vehicle in site. They are traveling west on Stanly road. I need backup ASAP."

Charles saw the car speed away and cursed. He put his pedel down to the ground and not only managed to catch up to them but swung around them and hit them on thier side causing a T-bone. He then pulled in front of the car blocking off its route to escape. Opening the door, he stood up and said, "Out of the car right the fuck now! Get on the ground!"

"Shit" Charles saw the driver take off running. He knew he could not catch up to him. So instead he got out of his car and ran to the passanger side of the car. He opened up the door and grabbed onto the passanger. "Don't move dirtbag" he said. He looked into the back of the car and said to the two passangers there, "That goes for you also."

Charles realized that he was only holding onto the seat cushion and not an actural person since the passanger had run away too. Looking in the back seat, he quickly snapped handcuffs on both of the passangers and then walked back to his car. He got onto his radio and reported that two males had fled the scene of the crime and were to be considered armed and dangerious and to be shot on sight. He then went back to the car and stood there.

The man protests as he is roughly turned around and his hands drawn behind his back. He appears to be only about the age of eighteen. As Charles snaps on the cuffs onto the man, he suddenly realises that the woman is no longer there and yet Charles could swear the door on her side had never opened and that he hadn't registered her movement, anyway. It seems as though one moment she were there, the next she wasn't.

Charles sighed and said, " I don't have time to argue with you. Your going to spend sometime in prison to clear your memory!" He took the man in handcuffs back to his car and put him in the backseat. Charles then got into the front seat and began to drive back toward the police station.

The man mumbles in protest but doesn't attempt to struggle. The drive back is unproblematic. Constable Wilkins stands by the front door to the police station, leaning back, his hat tipped forward a little.

Charles parked his car and got out. He took the man out of the back seat and walked up the front door. "Constable Wilkins, I need to book this man for resisting arrest and some other charges which I will file in a bit. Can you take him down to holding for me? i need to go to my office and check the computers for some info on the O'Connell family as I think it has to do with the murder this morning."

Charles went to his office and turned on his computer. While he waited for it to warm up he turned and stared at the picture of his girlfriend who was currently in a coma. "I will figure out how to get you back to me." he said with tears sliding down his face.

For a moment, it appears as though the girl in the picture's face is covered in a translucent, faintly blood stained rag. With a blink, the image is gone. 0/1d2 sanity loss.

The computer buzzes to life and quickly gets the basics underway before flashing the log-on screen.

Charles wiped his eyes and put the picture down. He turned away and back to the computer where he connected to the internet and looked up infomation about the family crest he was looking for. However while he found several links that led to family crests or family tree lookups, he did not find info about the family. "Oh well, what next" he muttered to himself.

Charles decided to go deeper in his search then just Yahoo!. He went to his favorite website, Family Tree's R Us, which he had used to trace his own family back to that of King William I otherwise known as William the Bastard, and searched for info on the family crest he was looking for. He found something and grunted in satisfaction as he printed off the pages.

The family crest belongs to, bizarrely enough, the Adams Family (no relation to the television show though perhaps a source of inspiration). Further digging finds that the family largely lived in and around London over the past few centuries. There are few known relatives of the family sprinkled about - Charlie Adams, Donald R. Adams, Berkeley Adams.

I am sorry. After much thought and looking at the massive amount of work I will have to do at my new job in the coming months, I am going to have to withdraw from some of the games I am playing and this is one of the ones I am withdrawing from. This has nothing to do with my statements over the last few days I just need to clear up my life a bit. Please forgive me. Maybe when things get better I will come back and play a new character or maybe I will join one of your other games. I am not sure.
