ASH: Dahlia

[Mr. Handy]

Lionel scratches his head. "I can't believe someone here could possibly have made a mistake of such magnitude," he says. "Why, it's unthinkable! Well, there's one simple way to get to the bottom of this. If you've really had your appendix taken out already, you'll have a little scar right here." He indicates the spot on his own abdomen. "Let me examine your belly, and we'll see what's what."

[trixie]

Dahlia shakes her head, looking at Lionel, confused. "What are you rambling on about? What year is it Lionel? And how'd we get here? Of course, that's the reason I was here, silly! To get my appendix taken out?"

She lifts her shirt and points to the spot he'd shown her on her own small abdomen.

[Mr. Handy]

Lionel inspects the scar. "What year is it?" he says, wonderingly. "I...I'm not sure. Let me think for a moment. You mean you don't know either?"

[trixie]

"Well, ya I know," Dahlia looks at him quizzically, "Wait....I'm probably confusing you. Lionel, what's the last thing you remember? Are you feeling alright?"

Dahlia looks around for a paper or anything indicating the current date and year.

[Mr. Handy]

"Well, I feel all right," says Lionel. "I am a bit confused, though. The last thing I remember was saving Brianna's life. She was hurt so badly. Whatever could have happened to her?"

[trixie]

"I dunno," Dahlia looks quizzically at him, then back to Brianna.

[OC Is Brianna unconscious or can she answer us? If she can talk, Dahlia would ask her how she got hurt]

[Mr. Handy]

Lionel also checks on Brianna. "Are you awake, Brianna?" he asks. "I'd like you to meet Dahlia. I think you've met her before, in the Children's Ward. I have a feeling you two will be fast friends."

[Laraqua]

Brianna moves stiffly, a pained expression frozen on her slightly shiny face, much like one might expect from a mannequin. She turns her head in little jarring motions from Lionel to Dahlia, then back to Lionel.

[Mr. Handy]

Lionel grins at Brianna. "You're going to be all right, my dear," he says. "It's lucky I found you in time, and that I'm a doctor. And once you're better, we'll all go out for ice cream just like I said. You, me, Dahlia, Daniel, Annie, Ronald, Agnes, and of course my daughter Sarah. I do hope you're not cross with Sarah. She's so sorry about what happened. She didn't mean for you to get hurt."

[trixie]

Dahlia looks at Lionel, startled, and interupts. "What d'ya mean Sarah? What did Sarah do??!" She stares incredulously, then at Brianna, trying hard to figure out why she looks so shiny. "Lionel do you already know how she got hurt?? You're confusing me! I thought you didn't remember?"

OC Ok, Dahlia and I are getting pretty freaked out now....

[Laraqua]

Brianna holds out her hands towards Dahlia and slides down off the bench.

[Mr. Handy]

[OOC: Freaked out? Why? Everything's perfectly normal, isn't it?]



"No, I don't know how she got hurt," says Lionel. "I was talking to Sarah on the phone earlier. She didn't really do anything as such, but she got tricked into thinking Daniel was a bad guy and she was so afraid. She thought she was trying to save everyone, but she was just mixed up. Morrison locked her and Cael up for no apparent reason, and that made her even more scared, so she found a way to escape and went back to her room. Then Brianna wandered into the room, but she was afraid of Cael and she ran away to get help. Cael grabbed her, which only scared her more. Sarah didn't hurt Brianna, but she was trying to stop her from telling anyone she had seen them and was trying to talk to her, but everyone was so afraid. That's when Brianna threw fire at them. I think she was trying to hit Cael, but Sarah must have gotten in the way and got knocked out. Then Brianna ran away and...well, I'm not sure what happened. Sarah said she was somewhere safe, but she must have gotten hurt anyway. Sarah is blaming herself for everything bad that happened, but it's not her fault."

He turns to look at Brianna. "It's okay, sweetie, Sarah and I aren't mad at you. You aren't in any trouble. In fact, Sarah would like to be your friend and she'll be so happy to see you're on the mend. Just please don't use the fire any more, it's very dangerous." He notices that she's on her feet. "Oh, you want to dance? Well, if you're sure you're up to it." He smiles at Dahlia. "We were going to have a dance tonight, but...something happened, I'm not sure what. Go on and dance with her, don't be shy."

[trixie]

Dahlia backs away from both of them, shaking her head mutely, mystified.

They're nuts....they're both nuts.....he's talking crazy talk...and why is Brianna shiny and standing when she's lost so much blood? Shouldn't Lionel be helping her back onto the table?! Oh my God!!!!

Dahlia turns and runs in the other direction. "Get away from me! Leave me alone!"

[Mr. Handy]

"Dahlia, come back!" calls Lionel. "I promised Daniel I'd look after you!" He looks back at Brianna. "It's okay, she's just shy and nervous. She'll warm up to you once she gets to know you. I suppose we'd best follow her to make sure she doesn't get into any trouble." He offers Brianna his hand. "Can you walk, or would you rather I carry you?"

[trixie]

Dahlia continues to run, looking back in terror, "AAAAAAaaaaah!!!!!"

"Help me! They're coming to get me! Someone heeeeelp!!!! They're crazy....seriously! Heeeeeeeelp!!!"

[Mr. Handy]

"What?!" says Lionel, perplexed. He looks behind himself and Brianna to try to see what Dahlia is afraid of, but there is nothing there. "Don't be afraid, Dahlia! I'll protect you from the crazies!"

[trixie]

Dahlia points at him accusatively, "You're the crazy! And why is she so silent? And shiny? What's going on???? Why don't you remember anything?"

[Mr. Handy]

"Me?" says Lionel. "I was crazy earlier, I think, but I'm feeling better now. I wish I could remember things, but I've been having trouble with that for a while. Must be because I'm getting old. I would never harm you, Dahlia. I'm only trying to help." He starts to cry. "I really miss Sarah. I know she's nearby, and once I see her again I know she'll make everything better." He looks at Brianna again. "Are you sure you're feeling okay? You haven't said a word since I found you back there, but that could simply be because you're under the weather. Perhaps you ought to get back in bed and rest a bit. Now that Dahlia mentions it, your face does look kind of shiny. Have you been putting on makeup or something?"

[Laraqua]

Brianna gazes up at him adoringly.

Dahlia reaches the door back to the corridor but can't seem to wrench it open. Peering up at the glass, she notices a shadowy silhouette of a head through the cracked, stained glass. Lionel sees a face, not a shadow, and it's most certainly Dr. Susan Roethal, a rather cheerful paeditrician.

Dahlia beats on the door with her hand, twisting and wrenching the door with all her might.

Lionel....I'm sorry....unggh!!!! I don't know what to tell you......I'm sorry about Sarah.....and Brianna.....but I'm getting pretty freaked out! It's too weird.....ungh!!!!
