Ash - Nurse Sarah

[Mr. Handy]

Sarah looks even more confused. "But you did see Jason," she said. "He was the boy with terminal cancer, the one that was chasing you when you arrived in the hospital during the war."

"That's right," says Lionel. "That was when I met you and Ronald, Brianna."

"Perhaps you were thinking of Joel instead? I don't know what happened to him, but I hope he's okay too. The last I saw of him he was heading downstairs back at Mercy Cross. He was upset because Louie shot Carson with a shotgun after Carson became a zombie and attacked me with a hammer. Leroy went with him, and I think Louie might have followed them too."

"Louie did say that he went around the hospital trying to help people because he felt so much remorse for what he had done. That's when he saved you, Sarah. He said he thought the others he was trying to help were all dead, but I don't know if he was referring to the two of them, and he didn't sound very certain about it. There's still hope for them. Maybe they transitioned to another reality too."

Cael flies the helicopter to the location, listening to the background noise of conversation as he goes. They're almost there.

[trixie]

Dahlia sighs, "Are we theeeeere yet? I have to pee sooo bad!"

[trixie]

Brianna rolls her eyes, "Ugh! Enough about your bladder....I don't even want to know Dahlia!"

[Mr. Handy]

"I'd completely forgotten that I haven't gone yet either," says Lionel.

"Don't worry, we're almost there," says Sarah.

[Laraqua]

The road is the only clear landing zone near the library.

The library hulks midway down one road, encompassing much of the street, its entrance shrouded in deep shadow, swirled with ash. The building to the left of it appears to have collapsed in on itself. The one to the right has all of its windows and doors left eerily open.

[DSIGFUSS]

Roanld suggest to the pilot and the others...

You think we should do a fly by around the building? See if anything moves down there. This isn't the hospital but if this madness has spread, I'd hate to get mauled by zombies or whatever the HE_Double hockey sticks else when we land this bird.

[Mr. Handy]

"That's a good idea," says Sarah. "We should see what we're getting into first."

"We shouldn't delay too long, though," says Lionel. "Otherwise I might have left by the time we get there."

"Will the roof support the helicopter if we land there? Can you see a way inside the library from the roof?"

[Laraqua]

The library has a flat roof that could well support the helicopter if no structural damage had been done by the ash.

"Flying around a building is standard practice, as for the roof... well it wasn't built to hold a chopper and even if it had a chopper pad it wouldn't have been designed for one of this size. This is a heavy ship." Cael stated.

[Mr. Handy]

OOC,Laraqua, you never answered my question earlier about Sanity boosts for [b]Sarah[/b] for defeating the Hound of Tindalos and saving her father.

"Then I guess we have no choice," says Sarah. "We'll be more vulnerable on the ground, though. Then again, I'm used to that feeling."

"Sarah, you don't ever have to feel that way again," says Lionel, hugging her. "Back on the roof of the DSTL you proved that you can handle anything."

"Well, maybe...but I'd rather avoid danger if we can."

"Besides, we're characters stuck in a horror game... I mean pawns caught in the game, not much choice of avoiding danger." Cael said.

[DSIGFUSS]

Ronald nudges Brianna and tickles her tummy.

You hear that kiddo? Standard practise... You got me thinking like a soldier now Cael! We're ready when you are.

Ronald grips Brianna's hand tightly once again as he prerpares to disembark from the helicopter.

Flying around the library reveals nothing about the building itself, though hazy distinct figures can be seen spilling from the front doors of the library. They appear humanoid, but it is hard to be sure in the darkness and the ash.

[Mr. Handy]

"Cael, can you shine the lights on those people?" asls Sarah. "We need to get a better look. Don't fire on them for anything unless you're certain they're hostile, and even then we can just lift off again."

"Yes, we wouldn't want to fire blindly," says Lionel. "That could be me coming out with Agnes and the others."

[Laraqua]

The bright light shines through the translucent figures who don't appear to notice as they come rushing out of the building. The figures seem washed out by the light and it makes it even harder to see who they might be.

[Mr. Handy]

"You know, I think that is us," says Lionel. "Maybe we look like that because we're in different realities. I remember the others looked kind of translucent like that too."

"Set us down, then," says Sarah. She is flush with confidence from defeating the dreaded Hound that had been hunting her father and saving his and Dahlia's lives. "I know you'll be very glad to see me - the other you, I mean - and we can tell you everything that's happened. Then you won't have to be afraid of the Hound, because you know I'll drive it off before it hurts anyone. And maybe the other you can even prevent what happens at the DSTL if we can warn his Daniel, Annie, and Morrison to be honest with me and tell them what happens." She gathers her things and prepares to disembark.

"I don't quite think it works that way, but it's worth a try. Let's hurry before I leave and we miss our chance." Lionel collects the black satchel and the laptop.

[trixie]

Brianna explodes in laughter when Ronald starts tickling her. "Ha...hah....ha....STOP! Oh my gosh....nooooo!" When he quits she lays there for a second, sighs, then throws her backpack on her back. "Oh it's about time! I can't wait to get off this chopper!"

[DSIGFUSS]

We should bring some extra torches guys. If there is anything like those creepy little kids we all seemed to run into down there, we're gonna need the high beams.

He squeezes Brianna reassuringly... for himself or the kid, he wasn't sure.

You stick close to me OK?

[Mr. Handy]

"Good thinking!" says Sarah. "There must be some here in the chopper too."

"Just don't shine them around outdoors or where they can be seen from outside again," says Lionel. "There's a blackout on, remember. I remember that the library will be destroyed in an air raid. We don't want to make it any easier for Jerry."
