Mark - Cinemaplex

The first door on the left leads to an L-Shaped room. There is a naked lightbulb and a pull string in the middle of the room. The walls are lined with shelving containing many film reels. At the very end is a poster, very aged, with the words: "Life is swell!" over the picture of a half-naked cartoon lady on a beach. Something glints in the light from the other room, something hidden partially behind one of the film reels. It's a key, old, dusty and large, that appears to have been left here by mistake rather than truly hidden.

Mark picks up the key. It's heavier than it looks. "This thing looks like an antique." he thinks as he places it in his bag. Mark listens at the door as he prepares to go out. Hearing nothing he quietly slips back out into the hall.

The corridor is empty. The lights flicker a little.

Mark makes his way over tothe stairwell, and slowly climbs the stairs.

The stairwell leads to a pair of offices, a small lounge and three projector rooms, judging from the plaques on the doors.

Mark turns the handle to the office, and to his suprise it is unlocked. He creeps in slowly, and searches the room for a safe, or a deposit bag.

There is, unfortunately, no safe. The money is probably kept in the till, largely, and then taken to the bank. There would be a safe somewhere, of course, to carry the float (change kept for the cashier to give to people) but it's apparently not here.

The large desk does contain an expensive computer, beside which is a laptop, upon both of the screens dance screen savers. The drawers contain staplers, rulers, the usual. There is a hat rack with a heavy trench coat that would keep him warmer - at least, if he went outside it would, as the threatre is warm but the outside world freezing - then what he was currently wearing. There is also a bowler hat sitting on the top and a suitcase at the bottom of the rack.

OOC: How long do you spend searching?

Mark closes the laptop, and unhooks it. He places it, and the power supply in his bag, and walks over to the Briefcase. It pops open easily with a little help from Mark's lockpicks.

Inside is a lunch box containing two sandwhiches and a juice box, a folio of photographs of the hospital across the road and some of the staff taken with a high-powered camera and a few proposals for renovations to the theatre.

He barely glances at the photos, and looks closer at the plans for the rennovations. He listens to make sure noone is coming.

It seems pretty quiet.

The renovations talk mostly about aesthetic changes, extentions to the cellar - that seem far too large already, and an underground Valuables Storage Facility. There is no mention of how to reach that place, however.

Mark folds the plans up neatly, and takes the sack lunch. He places them both in his backpack, and sneaks back out into the hallway.

He can hear a door opening somewhere on the floor below and people enter.

He gets the chilling sensation that there is someone behind him, watching him, someone familiar. Who shouldn't be there.

Mark turns the handle, and again he hasn't hit all of the tumblers. Mark glances over his shoulder. He feels invisible eyes burning through him. He doesn't notice anything, and returns his attention to the stubborn lock.

"Maaaaark..." A whisper, cold and tingling, hits his ear and runs down his neck and spine. It's his name, spoken in a voice that is contorted so that it almost sounds like a mechanical hiss.

Mark quickly spins back around, and looks for whatever had said his name. He doesn't see anythign , and quickly gets back to work on the lock as a chill runs down his spine. The lock clicks open, and Mark slips through, shutting the door quietly behind him.

The room is cramped and covered in aged movie posters. The projector and chair sit near the transparent glass in the middle of the far end of the small room. There is also a locked metal closet, a coffee table which contains a large box of popcorn and a soda, and a cupboard.

Mark locks the door behind him, and walks to the cupboard. He Listens for anyone out in the hall, and opens the doors.
