[Laraqua]

Lionel hears the sound of breaking glass.

[Mr. Handy]

"What the devil was that?" hisses Lionel. He turns towards the sound, trying to determine where it came from.

[Laraqua]

One of the theatres. There's only a few people in the lobby. The rest went to loot the staff area or tear padding out of the theatre chairs in the Simpsons Movie theatre.

[Mr. Handy]

Lionel turns to the man to whom Jennifer had loaned her pistol if he's there, or to whoever is present if he isn't, and points at the theater. "I heard glass breaking in there," he says quietly. "Someone should check it out."

[Laraqua]

The man had run back into the lobby at the sound of the shattering glass. He nods at Lionel and heads into the theatre.

[Seppuku]

Mark walks out of the theatre. "Hey kids did you miss me?" he says with a smile.

[Laraqua]

"No, no, no!" cries a woman from the staff section. She's still out of sight but her voice and the voices of those calming her can be heard. "I have to go. My children's babysitter will be leaving soon!"

[Mr. Handy]

"You missed quite a bit when you scarpered off," says Lionel. "Did you break that window? Jennifer and Thomas went out into the car park to fetch his gun. You should stay here in case they need help. If they or anyone else need medical attention, call for me. I'd better go calm that woman down, if you'll excuse me." Lionel makes his way to the staff room.

[Seppuku]

"Ya I broke it." Mark says "I wouldn't go upstairs. I didn't see anything, but I felt like someone was watching me the whole time I was up there." Mark walks to the popcorn machine, and grabs a few handfulls.

[Laraqua]

The woman is leaning against the wall, panting heavily. "My children... I left them in after-school day care. It ends at five thirty. Please would someone come with me?"

[Seppuku]

Mark walks back into the kitchen area, and looks for anything edible, or useful.

[Laraqua]

What food was here has clearly been ransacked. Perhaps by the audience members? Even the popcorn machine has been largely emptied, leaving only a few behind.

Mark walks to the freezer, and quietly opens the door.

The hordes must have come this way as well, however, as it's filled largely with icecream, much of it was left behind.

[Mr. Handy]

"Ma'am," says Lionel, "I'm Dr. Lionel Carpenter. I know all too well how you feel, but at the moment it's far too dangerous to travel anywhere. My own daughter Sarah is at the hospital across the way and I want nothing more than to be with her and protect her right now, but even that's too far to go. We won't do our loved ones any good if we get killed trying to reach them. I don't think anyone at the day care center will be leaving under the circumstances. We can try to reach them on my mobile phone. That way, if the call goes through, you can talk to them and we can warn them of the dangers."

[Laraqua]

"I tried that!" she sobs. "I can't get through. Please, you must help me. Just help me get to my car. There can't be anything out there. Please, doesn't anyone else have families? W-we could go together. Please!"

[Mr. Handy]

"Why don't we try my phone?" suggests Lionel. "I was able to get through to Sarah with it. What's the day care center's number?"

[Laraqua]

She sobbingly gives him the number. Lionel gets the engaged signal. Perhaps the phone was left off the hook?

[Mr. Handy]

"I'm getting a busy signal," says Lionel. "At least we know the phone can get through. Maybe their phone was off the hook, but it could be the line truly is busy with another call. We'll try again in a few minutes. I'm serious about how dangerous it is out there. I saw what those parasites can do to someone, and she didn't even make it ten feet from the front door. Besides, you can't even see ten feet in front of you with all that ash out there. Nobody can drive under these conditions, let alone find their way. For now we just need to trust in God and our loved ones' ability to survive to make sure they stay safe, until we can come up with a way to travel. I know, ma'am. I almost lost Sarah tonight, but she survived thanks to a miraculous rescue."

[Seppuku]

Mark walks back to the dish area, and looks around. (Looking for a large knife, and or tools.)
