Team Leaders:

James Starkweather
Image
Explorer, Guide, Lecturer
Age: 43
Nationality: British

Starkweather is possessed of classic "tall, dark, and handsome army officer" looks. Well-spoken, immaculately behaved towards his peers, and unfailingly condescending toward women, Starkweather nonetheless gets on well with anyone who treats him with the respect he believes he deserves.

An extremely experienced explorer Starkweather is a veteran of expeditions to the North Pole, Himalayas, the Australian Great-Victoria Desert, and Costa-Rica, as well as various locations in central and eastern Africa – mostly with his own African safari company. As his company fell on hard times during the depression Starkweather went into semi-retirement, taking the time to document his extensive travels in several best-selling books including Survival at the World’s Roof, and Death in Africa.

After his successful excursion to Costa-Rica with Moore and other Miskatonic academics, Starkweather’s star is rising again. Ever popular with the world press this new assault on the Antarctic marks the charismatic explorer’s return to the big time.

William Moore
Image
Geologist , Organiser, Miskatonic University
Age: 38
Nationality: American

The first Miskatonic professor to be appointed to the newly created Smythe Chair of Palaeontology, William Moore is an academic of outstanding ability, and a rising star within the Miskatonic fraternity. To compliment his academic prowess Moore is also an experienced explorer with successful expeditions to the Arctic, South America, Minnesota, Costa Rica, and the Himalayas under his belt. Indeed Moore would have been a member of the ill-fated 1930 Miskatonic Expedition, but for a bout of pneumonia.

Moore is more deep thinking and cautious than his gung-ho companion Starkweather, but as their successful excursions tho the Himalayas and Coasta Rica proved, their differing perspectives and personalities complement each other well in the field.
