A new way to suck out your sanity

Listen. Sometimes it hurts to let it all slip away. Sometimes it's easier just to die. But how can we do that when we know that she's out there? Waiting for me. Waiting for all of us. If you would only find her, maybe we could finally rest.

A new way to suck out your sanity

Post by Laraqua »

After much humming and hawwing, I've decided to bestow upon you all the chance to gain a psychic gift. At the cross-over point of each Chapter, the surviving characters may all roll POW x 1. If they roll under their POW x 1, they get to have a psychic ability.

Psychic abilities cost 0/1 sanity and 1 magic point per activation - more sanity may be charged at certain points if it seems right. There are, of course, other costs and problems that make them a bit of an ordeal so don't feel poorly if your character doesn't make the POW x 1 thing.

Lionel has already found the peril to time travel and precognition.

Anyway, potential psychic abilities are such things as Telepathy, Psychometry (reading the past of an object), remote viewing, sightjacking (viewing/hearing things through the sensory organs of another) among others.

I got the idea from Delta Green's book and I think it works quite well given Ash's unique make-up. Dahlia being the only 'natural' psychic won't suffer as much as other characters who get such abilities - or at least she probably won't.

Anyway, here's your chance to post questions, comments, rolls, queries or complaints with this idea in potentia.

Is Jill psychic? (at 8) (1d100=33)
Nope, definitely still "normal". :)

Psychometry is always the past of something? Not the future? Just wondering.....

Always the past, unfortunately.

On the plus side, Brianna has a chance at a psychic skill.

Brianna's quite safe. She's smaller than Ronald. She hides better!

Jason had one (learned through the awesome educational media that is the television), but sadly it didn't save him from becoming a smoldering scorched piece of meat. ;)

I want to make sure before I roll... Joel went through one of these cross-over points, right?

Yeah, Joel did.

Don't worry, SuAside, Jason's out hunting for friends right now. He won't be alone long.
