OOC Discussion

Halloween Night, 1987. A year since the events at the Old Barnaker House. Memories have faded. Things seem, fuzzier somehow. Did that, could that have even happened?

And here you are again, on Halloween Night. On the outskirts of an old amusement park. On Halloween Night. Didn't want to be called a chicken again...

And here you are. Something tugs at the back of your mind. A forgotten memory. This isn't right. You shouldn't be here. There's a metal arch over the front gate, topped by large, rusted metal letters. The remaining letters spell out 'UNLAND.'

What would the Goonies do?

WWTGD?

Unexpectedly discover a fully functional 200+ year old pirate sailing ship in an underground lake in Unland...
Well, there is a lake.

Two of them, even. But they're not underground.

Not that this is the most decisive factor, but Google Maps tells me the only ocean-like thing Indiana touches is Lake Michigan, and Northfield appears to be a long way from that even.

Which might argue against the likelihood of finding relic pirate ships in Northfield. On the other hand, those pirates were tricky...

Pah, always with the "facts", don't you know this is a post-truth era?

Sorry Team, I think I misunderstood (or Max did anyway) the description of the tracks.

I believe the GM is saying that heading back out of the fun park, back the way our heroes came in, now appears to be obstructed by the roller coaster superstructure.

Put simply, we can't backtrack. Although that may have been an optical illusion created by the fog.

My bad. Perhaps we can assume that is the message Max was trying to explain, he just didn't explain it very well.

I would say it currently looks like the struts of the rollercoaster are blocking the path back. But obviously that's impossible. So he must have got confused, maybe turned about a bit in the fog. Certainly worth exploring if he wants.

Glitch in the matrix today. Got a letter from someone in the US. Their address? Northfield, Indiana.

Sorry that I haven't responded yet fellas. Had been following along, but between the Thanksgiving holiday and deer season starting (I am a butcher), I got a bit caught up.
Will have a full reply to the thread tomorrow after I finish deer processing.

Dirk was for trying to follow the tracks under the coaster for what it is worth.

👍

Also, wow! Take that, Rudolph. Geez, I get squeamish moving dead possums that have climbed across the wrong power lines. Dressing deer...

You get used to cutting meat in a non-kitchen environment, but I agree it is weird at first. Deer processing is definitely blood money, it is profitable but you feel it in your body when you do it. We did 60 today and my wrist and back are killing me.

Funny you say that, I'd be much more squeamish about trying to knock an animal off a powerline. At least with deer processing I'm unlikely to accidentally kill myself! (Just unlikely)

Sorry for being late. Deer season just finished up (well the initial rifle season that I work). I'll have a post up when I get home from work.
