Episode 1 - What hath night to do with sleep?

"Yeah, Charlie over there got up close and personal with one of them grey things."

[Mephistophilis]

Safiya shudders at the mention of the remnant but she looks into the mirror, 'I don't see anything in there,' shaking her head. 'I didn't see any witch - I don't think. But I've seen things, I don't think they were real - like memories, reminders, reminders of what I've done...' She trails off.

"There was another one us, Dirk, we got split up..and...and....when we found him he was with the clown, saying stuff like 'I've told him something... and something aboit someone called Richie.He then just walked out the park" Darren says.

[Mr. Handy]

"Yeah, but we couldn't follow him. We were still trapped inside. I tried not to look to closely at the shapes in the mirrors, and when one of us broke one, it was a huge mistake. One of them emerged."

[Snapper]

Max had looked troubled at talk of revealing guilty secrets but remained quiet. Then a thought struck him.

"What was that about people under the lake, who are still alive?
Do you mean underwater?"

[Mephistophilis]

'He said...the clown...Perry...Mr Fun...he said that if I give up my lies I can get out...but I saw them...I saw them talking to the mirror...I saw what they become...I couldn't do it...I can't do it.'

She doesn't say any more until Max's question. 'You've seen...you can't die here...not really. But the ones that go into the lake. I don't know. They're different. Not dead but...I don't know. Not alive either. I hear them sometimes. They're calling to me. To join them. I don't know, I don't know.' She starts rocking again, staring blankly at her feet. Muttering inaudibly under her breath.

[Philulhu]

”Well look, you’re with us now,” said Charlie. ”If we stick together, we’ll get out of here.”

He held onto the bat firmly, seeking reassurance in its wooden solidity.

[Mr. Handy]

"Yeah, we need to stick together, no matter what," says Harry. "The forces that control this place are trying to separate us. Bad things happen when they do."

[Snapper]

"And I think that rules out midnight swims."

"What do you mean? You saw what they become? The people?" Darren asks.

[Mephistophilis]

'When they talk to the mirror. When they give up their lies. When they create that...that thing. That grey thing in the mirror. The remnant. What's left, there's something missing. It's taken away part of them. An important part. They look...empty. I can't do that. I won't do that. I won't do that. I won't...'

[Mr. Handy]

"Good," says Harry. "We're all going to get out of here, and without any parts missing."

Louis finishes cleaning an old oar he found under a bush, he holds it out to her,
“Here, it’s kind of a crutch.” He says shyly.
“Do you think the thing feeds on lies? I think it lives in the tunnel of Love and that clown works for it. And…. Well it’s like the witch, she fed on our fear…. Maybe.”
He shrugs, he isn’t clever like Darren and Harry and now his theory sounds lame.

[Mephistophilis]

Safiya doesn't even seem to see Louis's crutch. She continues to rock and mutter to herself, 'I won't do that. I won't do that. I won't...'

[Mr. Handy]

"Then let's not tell any lies," says Harry. "If our enemy is the witch, or like the witch, we'll have to confront it in its lair to defeat it and escape, just like in the Barnaker House. That means we'll have to go into the Tunnel of Love."

[Philulhu]

”Great!” sighed Charlie. That was the last place he wanted to go!

[Mephistophilis]

OOC:   The Tunnel of Love is up in the northwest of Funland and you'll need to circle right around to get there from here with the paths blocked by the rollercoaster struts and the bridge down.

[Snapper]

"If you think that is the solution, I'll go with that plan. I don't really have any prior practical experience with fighting monsters. But that's a fairly common theme in horror comics, you have to fight them in their lair."

[Mr. Handy]

"Then let's get going," says Harry. "Anything else we run into will only weaken us before we get to the final battle. The fastest route is to keep heading north around the east side of the lake, and then head west."

OOC:   The rollercoaster track and supports blocks the way to the north. You'll need to go south and west, around the boating lake and past the Dodgems to reach the Tunnel of Love
