The lift lurched suddenly as the button was depressed and it descended to the floor below. As the room came into view, they could see it contained a fully-stocked machine shop that included welding equipment, anvil, industrial lathe, and racks of raw metal for fabrication.

In the corner was an air compressor, a rack of air tools, and an assortment of hammers.

[Mr. Handy]

Benjamin looks through the tools for a soldering iron.

Gavin found a toolbox with screwdrivers, a hammer and some nails, as well as some timber wedges that could be used to prop open doors, but no soldering iron.

In the north east and south east corners of the room, corridors lead away from the room. The south west corridor lead a short way to a dead end, with a ladder leading upwards set into the wall, with a hatch at the top. Presumably that lead up to the trapdoor they had seen in the garage. The northeast corridor ran 15-20 metres to a t-junction at the end. Both corridors were well-lit.

"This looks defensible, with multiple paths to retreat," says Benjamin. "Let's set up our early warning system and decide on shifts. I'll volunteer for first watch."

:Right, I've found a basic toolbox, screwdrivers, nails, hammer you know the drill, plus some timber wedges." Looking at the wedged in his hand Gavin adds, " Could use these to prop open doors, if we wanted to create a trap? Railroading Benny Bigfoot down a certain route? Open to suggestions."

"That's a good start," says Benjamin. "The wedges are best used to hold doors shut from the inside. That will buy time if the enemy tries to force entry. If we have to retreat through one of those doors, we could easily remove the wedge from our side, then wedge it shut from the other side once we're through. I suppose we could also set a trap by propping open specific doors to herd it down a particular route, but I can't imagine what sort of trap we could use in that case. We know so little of our enemy."

"Hmmm... I feel thats too hopeful. I dont think those things are gonna be stopped by simple wedges. But trying wont hurt. And no guiding traps, nor ambushes, we cannot determine the intelligence or physical ability of the enemy."

[Mr. Handy]

"I know the wedges won't stop the enemy, ma'am," says Benjamin, "but like I said, they will slow it down."

"We know Sally Sasquatch is incredibly strong as we've seen from the state of the doors here and the carnage of the campsite, plus..remember the bear? It can can go toe to toe with that! The way it stalks, using the environment, plus it took down our plane! I would say it is a highly intelligent apex predator."

Randy happily busied himself making trip wire / tin can alarms.
"I'll set these up outside each entrance to our bolt hole."

"Maybe there's more than one group involved here? Whatever was throwing those snow balls must have been huge. Which makes me think of that skull. But something that big, could it even get around inside these buildings?"

"It or they must have been able to fit inside," says Benjamin. "We found all those people slaughtered in this place."

"They could have dogs."

"Dogs wouldn't have been able to destroy interior doors like that, let alone arrange the corpses as they were," says Benjamin. "If all they do is sic dogs on us, we're well equipped to deal with them, but let's not let our guard down."

"Perhaps we should quickly check down that T-junction, just to get an idea what's next to us." Randy started heading cautiously along the corridor towards the T-junction.
