EPISODE 2

Duc's Palace Grounds, Hedge Maze - Vyones, Auvergne, France
5:00 PM - Monday, April 20, 1517

Gui and Jean Luc eventually found their way back out of the maze, with some help from peeking over the tops of the hedges again. The sun was starting to get low in the sky behind them to the west. There was nobody nearby.

[Philulhu]

“Pah! They have left us!” grumbled Gui, thoroughly disgruntled with being abandoned. He knew turning up very much last wouldn’t impress anyone so he cast about, looking around to see if anything of interest could be seen nearby.

[Mr. Handy]

The only thing of interest nearby was the garden, which was between the hedge maze and the chateau. To the left, behind the chateau, a lake was visible in the distance. To the right, around the corner, was the entrance to the chateau.

Sighing, Gui turned towards the château and started to trudge back. He might see if there was a drink to be had, perhaps more than one, he thought.

He thought of Bianca and her secret mission. Perhaps he might take a look around if others were absent.

[Mr. Handy]

Gui and Jean Luc entered the front door of the chateau in time to see Leonardo da Vinci walking slowly away through the doorway at the back of the entry hall, followed by Story, Elizabeth, Brook, Jacques, Diego, and Henri.

[Philulhu]

Gui held a finger up to his lips and started walking quietly after the group in front, eavesdropping in case they said anything of importance.

[Mr. Handy]

Jean Luc tried to advance using pillars to strategically block their quarry's view of him, but it was too late. Some of them looked back.
