You don't see anything. Except a strange mark in the wall, where the creature was emerging, like if it had been burned from the inside. The smell is very strong there.

[Mr. Handy]

"ROSE!" calls Alicia, going inside and checking that the house is clear. "We need to talk to my other colleague. He'll be able to help, and he won't think we're crazy. Let me call the police station and see if they know where he's gone. Keep an eye on the letters, in case your son or Rose tries to communicate with us."

[kabukiman]

"Ok, but I don't have a phone, it burned the first time that Will tried to talk to me."

[Mr. Handy]

"Then let's go to the police station," says Alicia. "It's not safe for you to stay here any more. If Rose was taken too, there's at least a silver lining that she can find and look after your son."

[kabukiman]

"Ok, let's go then."

[Mr. Handy]

"Be careful what you say to the police," says Alicia. "We don't want them thinking we're crazy. Don't lie, but we don't have to tell them all the details." She gets behind the wheel of the car and waits for Joyce to get in before driving to the police station.

You arrive 15 minutes latter.

[Mr. Handy]

Alicia leads the way inside. "Do you know where Special Agent Martinez is?" she asks.

[kabukiman]

"Yes, he went with chief and Sinclair to the plant."

[Mr. Handy]

"Thank you," says Alicia. "Do you know the number, and can I please use your telephone? I need to speak to him urgently."

[kabukiman]

"Yes".
She gives you the phone number.

[Mr. Handy]

"Thanks," says Alicia. She gestures for Joyce to follow her to an isolated desk from which she hopes they won't be overheard and uses the phone to dial the number. When someone answers, she will ask for Special Agent Martinez.

[Mr. Handy]

"He's on his way back here with the chief," says Alicia. "We'll wait for him here. Maybe we can get some coffee and food while we do."

[Snapper]

Jalapeño eventually returned with the Chief and another officer.

"You better tell the Chief what happened."

[Mr. Handy]

"This is going to be hard to believe," says Alicia, "but Joyce was there, and she saw it too. She told us about how her son was lighting up the letters to communicate with her. While we were there, a message from him started coming. He used the letters to spell 'Mom are you there?' When she asked him where he was, he replied 'Here.' When she told him she didn't understand, he then replied 'Wait he is coming run!' That's when I grabbed Joyce by the arm and tried to get her out of there. Before we made it out, this shape started coming out of the wall, like it was made of mud. It looked vaguely like a man, but with claws and without eyes. I ran away with Joyce while Rose opened fire. I didn't see what happened after that. I do remember that Rose said she wondered if it could be liquification from localized seismic activity. When I came to my senses, I led Joyce back. There was no sign of her or the creature, only a scorch mark on the wall where it had emerged and the smell of sulfur."

[Snapper]

Jalapeño watched the Chief to gauge his reaction. He pulled the Chief and Alicia to some private spot to talk.

"Chief, this is a big stretch I know, but we know this kind of stuff happens. If you want the little kid back, you're going to have to trust us."

He turned to Alicia. "We need to get wherever they've gone and rescue them. I vote we go back to that house with the rifles and the works. Then we try to lure this creature out and follow it back."

After that, Jalapeño continued trying to convince the Chief that weird stuff was real, and they had been sent to help deal with it.

[Mr. Handy]

"Yeah!" says Alicia, who needs no convincing. "I'll bring the rifle I packed, in case we needed it. It turns out we do. I should have made sure Rose came with us, but when I saw that thing, I just panicked..."

[kabukiman]

Chief starts getting pale and suddenly takes a bottle and takes a long drink. Then he says:

"You mean Joyce was telling the true? You mean she was telling the true about the ligths? That is so unbelievable. Wait, you have already deal with situations like this? You know those creatures"

[Snapper]

"Yup, Joyce is telling the truth."

"We don't know these specific creatures, but we know creatures like this exist. And are very dangerous. Stuff that's in no science book and no government will officially admit to. But we have dealt with the like before, yes."

"If we can lure the creature out again and then follow it back, hopefully we can find the kid and Rose."

"And wasn't there something about a second kid missing? Girl named Barbara?"
