Looking around the room for anything else to barricade the door Dr Douglas hisses at McBride "For god sakes man, do as he says, you know it makes sense!"

McBride just gave out a low growl - clearly he was beyond reason at this point in time!

From the door on the ground floor, there was a splintering noise as one of the timbers gave way. The beast was making its way in!

[Mr. Handy]

Bonnie holds a finger to her lips and remains motionless.

[Philulhu]

There was another splintering sound from downstairs, followed by the sound of timber clattering on stone. Part of the door must have been broken off and fallen onto the floor.

There were further sounds of violence as the door was vigorously shaken back and forth.

McBride whimpered… …

Bonnie holds still, emphasizing again with her finger the need for absolute silence. Although surely the beast can hear the pounding of her heart...

Heart pounding, Dr Douglas holds the small bone handled knife tightly in his hand, eyes glued to the door, attempting to control his breathing.

[Philulhu]

From below, there was a triumphant howl as the door timbers finally gave up under the creature’s relentless battering! McBride shot to his feet, eyes wide with terror! “We’ve got to get out!” he screamed! He ran for the door and started to tear down the makeshift barricade!

[Mr. Handy]

"Leave the barricade alone, and keep quiet!' hisses Bonnie in a soft but urgent tone. "You'll bring it down on all of us!"

[Snapper]

Ascot holds up an urgent warning hand to Bonnie and the others, but makes no threatening move towards McBride. "Don't try to stop him, he still has the revolver. No point getting shot before the thing below even gets here. We'll rebuild the barricade after."

[Philulhu]

With a loud screech, McBride hauled open the door and with a haunted look at the four investigators, he turned and ran for the stairs on the other side of the Manor House, presumably hoping to sneak out while the creature sought out another meal, or four… … …

[Mr. Handy]

Bonnie quickly closes the door and begins to reassemble the barricade while making as little noise as possible.

[Snapper]

Ascot stands guard, ready to attack anything with his cutlass while Bonnie works.

Dr Douglas moves quickly to assist Bonnie in securing the room. " I know its not exactiy christian but i hope the beast follows the fresh scent of piss and goes after the new quarry!" He whispers.

OOC:   Could i look through McMorns journal to see if there is any clue on how to banish this creature?

Ascot clears his throat, slightly embarrassed. "Doctor, I know the situation is a bit grim, and I'm sure behind closed doors you medical chaps are used to talking much more freely, but remember there's a lady present. No offence meant, of course."

"Of course, apologies Miss MacKenzie
i.just forgot myself in the current situation." Dr Douglas nods sheepishly at Bonnie.

The Father Ó Shaban kept his praying stance, he was an elderly priest, not really able to help defend the place if the creature came trough. This meant also that he was quite silent and unmoving, not that it mattered all that much with McBride's actions.

You can read the journal. A library use roll would seem the most appropriate, unless you can think of anything else.
