Duc's Palace, Guest Quarters- Vyones, Auvergne, France

When Jean Luc de Monet emerged from his quarters, freshly changed, he encountered one of the Duc's servants walking down the hall. "Is everything to your satisfaction, Monsieur?" he asked. "Is there anything I can do for you to make your stay more pleasant?"

"Everything has been beyond my wildest dreams! I only wish I had caught the names of the two lovely ladies who were watching the procession, both had dark hair, one shoulder length the other longer? I believe they were talking to that handsome cad who also had long dark hair, shoulder length I believe."

"There were a number of lovely ladies in attendance this morning who might fit that description," said the servant. "If you mean the ladies who spoke regarding the unfortunate events of last night, there were three of them. Alas, I do not know their names...but perhaps I could find out for you." He holds out a hand, palm upward.

Grinning wryly Jean Luc produces the equivalent of 50 modern US dollars "A man after my own heart" he says placing the money in his palm but not releasing his firm handshake grip "there's something at play here and I want you to help me figure it out. What's your name?"he looks over the man appraisingly. (Request the equivalent of a psychology roll?)

Jean Luc slipped him a franc, leaving him with all of three to his name. "But of course, Monsieur," he said. "My name is Henri. How may I help?"

Sure, go ahead and roll Insight.

"You're a sharp one that's exactly who I meant. Keep an eye on them and take note of who they speak to, the more details the better. There's plenty more where that came from if you find anything interesting, it's kind of a party game I like to play."

"Very good, Monsieur," said Henri. "I shall report back to you if I learn anything of interest." He headed off down the hall.

After watching Henri walk away Jean Luc makes one last check of himself in his new garb before heading out. He casually wonders the halls and when able covertly pokes his nose where it may not belong.

As Jean Luc walked up and down the halls, he heard a loud thock coming from one of the guest rooms, like someone chopping firewood.

No, there's no pushing in 6th edition, but something just happened that you'll hear regardless of your roll.

Walking carefully heel to toe to conceal the noise of his footsteps Jean Luc makes his way towards the source of the sound. Listening carefully he tries to peek through the keyhole or under the door of the guest quarters that appears to be the source of the sound, his heart rate increased by the unexpected clamor.
