Ota weighed up the odds. ”It’s the Captain’s call at the end of the day but I’m pretty sure I can talk him round,” he said. with a smug smile.

”I presume you’ll have access to any equipment that we’re going to need?”

"It's a good deal," says Mary. "I think the Captain will take it."

"We are joining the rest of our crew in a bar, I am sure that with the contact I gave then, we must have a new cargo of ore waiting to be loaded in the ship."


Mary and Ota
"Very well, just one last detail: I have a nephew. Well, he is the son of the older sister of my wife. He was in a merchant ship but now he is without a job, I'm hiring to this mission, so if you have success, I can hire him in a permanent base. Hope you don' see any inconvenient? You can go tomorrow. I need to write the paperwork to get access to the the train."

Ota nodded. This nephew probably needed nursemaiding - that sounded like a job for Mary, not him, but he’d save that conversation until they were outside again.
