OOC:   Santino might be able to "borrow" Jacob's laser carbine maybe. Jacob is busy driving anyway.

”Assuming they follow the truck and ignore whoever’s in the building,” replied Ota. ”If they don’t then we’ll be trapped in here with no way out.”

He looked over to Jacob. ”Rev the engine,” he ordered him. ”Let’s see if they respond to that!”

Santino gratefully accepts the laser carbine offered to him by Jacob. The reassuring bulk of the weapon calms him down a bit. He powers it up and sights it. He's never used one of these before but he's always been a good shot and thinks he can make use of it. 'Okay, I'm ready. What's the plan?'

"To quote a great pre-stellar Terran general, all warfare is deception. Be so subtle as to be invisible." Rourke looks at Santino. "So the deception is that we are apparently on that truck which hopefully will lead the crazies away. The subtle invisibility will be us hiding out here, ready to protect the sheriff while he sends for help from the Starport."

"What's the plan if the deception doesn't fool them?" asks Mary. "Run like hell?"

”Circle the truck around, pick us up and get the hell out of here. We can withdraw and pick off the infected at a distance,” replied Ota.

Rourke looks briefly appalled at the thought of shooting all the infected locals.

"OK, I think we have a plan." Rourke makes sure he stays inside and out of sight of the crazy locals but he hisses quietly to Jacob. "Jacob, take the truck for a lap of the town, slow-ish. Try to draw these buggy locals away. But if they won't follow you, come back so we can jump in and get away."

Ota saw the doubt on Rourke’s face and rolled his eyes. ”It’s them or us,” he snapped. ”Want me to find you a white flag so you can go parlay, see if they’ll just go home?” he continued sarcastically.

Rourke looks at Ota in irritation. In a low voice, he hisses, "Stow it, Ota, if it's not operational talk. And no, I don't think there's much honour in shooting innocent civilians controlled by some alien parasites. But if there's no other option, I will."

Ota bristled at Rourke’s response. ”It’s them or us,” he repeated. ”Civvies or not, they’re trying to kill us!”

"Feel free to jump back in the truck right now and take pot-shots at those poor sods out there, while Jacob tries to lead them away from here, if that's what you want. But if you're going to stay inside the Station, for pity's sake, be quiet and stay hidden."

Ota scowled. ”Get that truck moving!” he snapped at Jacob, before turning away to watch the approaching civilians.

Santino shrugs and takes cover behind a desk. He doesn't want to shoot his colleagues but he's not getting infested again, no way.

"Is the call done yet?" Mary asks the sheriff.

You need to drive about 20 meters after the station, turn left where the road cross the railroad and on foot go to the east part of the station.

Almost done- says the sheriff- I'm explaining the situation to an officer.

The crow is running in your direction. About 20 meters now...

Mary looks around for a good hiding place.

So, does the truck start running to atract the infested?

OOC:   Assuming Jacob does as asked, yes, absolutely. Jacob will hopefully start it up and slowly drive away.
