Re: OOC:
GM and team, I can't recall or figure out from quickly skimming the long unread Little Black Traveller Books, but does the PC gain any bonuses to a skill check from their stats?
I gave Rourke the +2 for his actual skill but no bonus for his EDU.

Re: OOC:
No, you can't use bonus from the stats (but to use certains skills, you need a minimum number in the stat).
Sorry, the last few days I have been full of work.

Re: OOC:
In the original rules, you basically roll 2d6 and add your skill level, that's it. 8+ is a success.
Normally, lack of a relevant skill means a -3 penalty, except for PCs and weapons, who can be considered as having a skill of 0 in all weapons.
I believe Kabukiman is saying your PC can make a skill 0 roll, ie. no bonus or penalty, for Forward Observer or whatever it was. Straight 2d6.

Re: OOC:
Yes, because it is something similar but not exactly the same.

@Philulhu
Stop me if you already know this stuff. The original Traveller rules had some quite war-game level complex combat rules. Among other things, there were different bonuses / penalties for firing single shot or automatic (4 shot per round) with an automatic rifle.
In the circumstances, a single shot seemed completely appropriate and solved our problem. But if you had fired automatic, you would made 2 attack rolls and potentially hit the cultist-zombie guy twice. Think this has worked out well without wasting ammo, just FYI.
