And the bugs from the people you hit are coming close. Suddenly, you hear a roar and lot's and lot's of infested people come from the south of the town in your direction.

What kind of roar? Like a creature or a mass of humans?

”Hang on!” yelled Ota as he slammed his hand down on the cabin of the truck. ”Get us out of here, driver!”

I take it they’re not visible at the moment?

The driver changes direction in the opposite direction of the (growing) roar when after a while... you see bugs in the ground. Milions of them covering the floor. Coming in your direction.

”My God!” muttered Ota. He’d not seen anything like it before! He thought about opening fire but thought it would be just a pinprick compared to the swarm that was following them!

”Get your heads down,” he said, turning to the passengers. ”Hopefully we’ll outrun them but if they get closer, we’ll need to fight, so keep your weapons ready.” He looked back at the approaching horde. He wouldn’t normally feel scared but if the horde caught them, they were done for…

He increases the speed of the truck and you all hear "crack, crack" under the wheels and you are hit by drops of a blue liquid. The sound of fury behind you increase and it seems the crowd is maddening.
