You follow slowly, avoiding the trees, but you can resume after a while in the normal speed.
The dirt track comes to an end, and you see a farm with a plantation. Tents and other makeshift shelters are huddled around a plantationstyle house that overlooks the tobacco fields, which are surrounded on all sides by the forest. At the side of the building sits an old truck. Approximately two hundred local people remain in the camp. A (probably) middle east man, with a high-quality suit in good condition, wide brimmed hat, neat hair, followed by several worker come in your direction.

[Mr. Handy]

"Let's find out if there are any sick people here," says Harry.

[Snapper]

"Well, the good news is we won't have time to die of the disease."

[kabukiman]

"Hello there, my name is Kazi, and I'm the owner of the farm. I presume you are the team that was sent to help with the epidemy?"

“I’m not sure we want to be roped in to play at nurses.” Jan whispers to the others. “Frying bigger fish for starters.”

[Mr. Handy]

"Hello, my name is Harry," says Harry. "Yes, that's us. Has anyone here been infected?"

[Snapper]

Can Crowley make an Anthropology roll to identify Kazi's ethnic heritage?

"Yes, I have several workers and villagers sick. That is bad, less people working. I hope you cure them quick. By the way, there is a camp nearby with people from the company doing a survey to find diamonds and other things useful and that is a real mess"

Crowley studies the foreman with interest.

Alex stays quiet but observes the owner, trying to evaluate just how scared he is of this infection, and also any signs that he might be infected himself.

"We'll see what we can do," says Harry. "How long have they been sick, and what condition are they in now? What are their symptoms?"

"About 4 days. They are covered with some nasty pustules and coughing their lungs. Ate the begining they were only feeling weak, I thougth it was about the weird fruits and crops, but then they got worst and it seems really serious; a medic said it must be hepatitis A."


Kazin seems perfectly well. But in the first stage, there isn't any symptoms...
He doesn't seem worried, more anoyed.


OOC: Middle east. Syrian maybe?

"Ah, forgive my curiosity but I've spent a lot of time in the Middle East. Are you Syrian, Kazi?"

[Mr. Handy]

"We have a test we can administer to determine if someone has the disease," says Harry. "If we can catch it in the early stages, we may be able to produce a cure. What about these weird fruits and crops? They might be the cause. What's weird about them, and how long have they been like that?"

[kabukiman]

"Yes, I am from Syria, Damascus to be more precise. Well, about a month ago, the team doing the survey in the mountain to find minerals, used too much explosives and they were killed in a landslide. Some days latter before even a new team arrived, there was an eartquake. After that, strange flowers bloomed and the trees bearing fruit previously unseen in the area appeared. The locals even if they are converted to christianity and to islam, started to say it was a bless from the god of the mountain, Well, a new team arrived, and before they could even mount their stuff, the fruits started to wither; the locals blamed the new team saying they were responsible for the anger of the god. And some days ago, people started to get sick. The people of the company was also blamed for it but they said it was hepatitis and asked your help and here you are. So if you have a cure, just start making it, ok? I'm loosing money"

[Mr. Handy]

"I suspect that it's this new fruit that is the source of the illness," says Harry. "Have you eaten any of it yourself? Is there anyone who has eaten some but has not gotten sick yet, or only a little sick?"

"How far away did this occur? Can we drive there or have someone guide us to that location?"

“Yes, we should go straight away. Can you take us to the earthquake area?” Jan asks him.

Crowley is still idly curious. Looking back at Kazi, he asks, "What brought you all the way from Damascus to here?"
