Chapter 3- Borneo

[Mephistophilis]

After taking a slug of drink from a brown coloured bottle, Alex follows behind muttering to himself. 'Oh sure, bring it with us. Great plan.' A little more loudly and slightly hysterically he says, 'Oh no, no bombs here!'

[Mr. Handy]

"If it goes off, it won't really matter how close we are to it," says Harry. "At least if it's with us, it might be possible to disable it."

“A bomb?!” Jan whispers furiously. “And you want to put in the back of a car bouncing around on these roads?!” She looks round to check that the officer can’t hear them.

They bring you two Ford model A open-cab pickup truck; it is a model from 1929, very solid and in good shape; each one can take two passengers (the extra person will have to go with the material).

Lancaster:
"So, you are all my guests to a dinner this night. You can leave tomorrow morning if you want."

[Mr. Handy]

"Do we have that long?" asks Harry. "Maybe we should start tonight."

[Mephistophilis]

'Oh we're ready and raring to go,' hisses Alex, through gritted teeth.

[Snapper]

"Any other time and I'm sure we would be delighted, Captain," Crowley replies. "Unfortunately, time is of the essence. Lives at stake and all that. I do hope you will accept our apologies."

"Indeed Captain. Can we take you up on that dinner on our way out? We must deal with the outbreak first before any more are infected." Butch says, and then to the others. "I'll ride in the back with the cargo."

“I will ride shotgun.” Jan states and turns away to ready her elephant gun and her other kit.

You have everything loaded, a map and you are in the trucks preparing to leave-~

Sitting in the back, Butch has a good view of the surroundings.

Alex sits in the back of the truck, knees curled up, shotgun across his lap, muttering unintelligibly to himself. His eyes dart back and forth, scanning the countryside. A haunted look, like he senses there is something out there, something malevolent. His hand goes to the strangely carved idol in his pocket.

Everyone notice suddenly a local women (malayan?). She appears to be in her late 20s and her dress is tattered and bloodstained. She is
running and screaming something; the soldiers shot in the air as warning, she ignores them and then they shoot at her and she falls.

"WOAH! They just shot one of the infected people." Butch stands up in the back of the truck and shouts. "Why are you killing the infected? We are here trying to see if we can cure them!"

[Mephistophilis]

Alex turns away as he sees the woman die. 'It wasn't the bullets that killed her,' he says gruffly. 'She was too far gone, see how those boils ruptured when she fell.' He shudders at the memory. 'We need to be very careful around the infected. If those pustules rupture we could easily be infected.' Then he recites a prayer under his breath and makes the sign of the cross.

[Mr. Handy]

"Yeah," says Harry, "or it might be us they shoot next."

[Snapper]

Crowley grimaces. "The soldiers were just doing their job. This is what controlling a plague looks like."

He looks over at Shapiro. "Shapiro, can you do your test of her remains or did you need live ones?"
