Alex isn't entirely following what's being said, too preoccupied with the hole. But when he hears criticism of how long it's taken them to dig it, he turns and barks irritatedly, 'Look, some of us aren't as young as we used to be, we did the best we could!' He turns back to looking into the hole, muttering to himself about ungrateful whippersnappers.

Crowley looks at Jan in exasperation.

"Very well, shall we explore your grave tunnel first, then will you come at look at what we found after?"

Jan stands on the edge and peers into the hole.
“You won’t catch me climbing down there;there’s probably worms.” She grimaces.

Crowley has reached his - never very high - limit for crazy behaviour from colleagues. "To hell with this. Protect your ears, Miss DeBeer"

He draws his big Webley revolver, thumbs the hammer back and, angled away from the camp, fires a shot into the air with a cracking report.

"Dammit, will you all focus! Snap out of it! What is wrong with you? Have you all lost your wits, such as they were?!"

Spoiler:
Can Crowley see anything wrong with his colleagues? Glazed eyes, foaming at the mouth, snakeskin, tentacles?

He is working on the basis they are somehow hypnotised.

"Jesus Christ Crowley! Are you sure you haven't succumbed to some madness in the jungle? You said you were gone for hours but that is only in your head. Now we agreed we would investigate this tunnel and then decide what to do about the jungle. First things first! Now put away that gun before you hurt someone!"

Butch will climb down into the hole and and follow it to see where it is going.

Keeper, Is the tunnel going towards the area of jungle where the weirdness is?

Jam’s eyes widen as she realises Crowley’s suspicions; now that he comes to mention it, their companions do seem rather too interested in a small hole. Especially as there’s a whole weird jungle/mountain/earthquake to investigate. And they seem to have forgotten about the bomb.
She watches them closely for more odd behaviour.

Can Crowley wait to see if Jan succeeds on Psych? On the basis that if she fails, he'll spend the 12 Luck to make this a success?

Everybody is shouting at each other and acting strange...
They are divided in two groups, Jan and Crowley (with a gun in his hand) in one side and Butch and Alex near a hole where the bodies have been buried.

Jan looks up at the sky and the burning sun. She smiles brightly at Alex and Butch.
“It’s probably just the heat making them act a little stranger than usual.” She mutters to Crowley.
