Jan moves to unlock the door and unfold the steps. She’s the first down and is very glad to stand on the soil. She takes a deep breath of the moist, humid air.
“Hmm, jungle!” She exclaims. She turns and gives the officer an appraising look whilst she waits for the others.

Not sure if the officer heard him through the shattered cabin, Crowley repeats his introduction as he staggers out of the aircraft. "Captain Crowley, Royal Flying Corps, retired. At your service."

"Thank you," says Harry, following Jan out of the plane.

"Captain Lencaster at your service"- he makes a quick salute to all, says "Maam" to Jan and then shakes Crowley's hand.
"It seems you had problems in your plane?"
He orders then one of the soldiers to help Jan

"A pleasure, Captain." Crowley waves at the plane and looks grim. "I'm actually a passenger, not a member of the crew. The aircraft flew into a flock of, ah, giant tropical bats or something at high altitude. When the windscreen was shattered, both the crew were whipped out by the wind, and I regret to say have most certainly been killed."

"I would be grateful if you could pass on their deaths to the relevant authorities."

"Thank you, Captain," says Harry, shaking his hand next. "The remains of some of those creatures are also in the plane. They're a rather disturbing sight."

"I will. Lately have suffered some strange... occurences. But come, I am pretty sure you want to refresh yourself and eat something. We will speak latter."
He sends some soldiers to help with the luggage. As soon as He leaves, Shapiro comes in near panic and says:
"We need to talk now".

"Yeah, I think so too," says Harry, following Shapiro.

Alex hauls himself up and follows Shapiro. 'And how do these nightgaunts connect to the yellow plague? Not in a good way I expect.'

Crowley produces a small hip flask of single malt, takes a celebratory swig, and passes it around. "What's the news, Shapiro?"

Jan distracts the officer by hooking her arm in his and leading him away so Shapiro can talk.
“Captain Lencaster, tell me more about these strange occurrences.”

Jan
"Well, at the beggining I dismissed as mere superstitions form the locals. But some strange plants have appear and my men have spoted strange animals. Any way, we have created a cordon in the area because of the disease and it is forbidden to leave it. We have convinced the locals to stay, even if we had to shoot several as a warning"

Shapiro:
"Well, we have an engine with us that would be used as last ressource to destroy the area in the case that we couldn't contain the disease in the area. And now... the device is in a countdown with 24 hours. It will burn everything in an area of 2 miles."

"A device? You're speaking of a bomb?" Butch says quietly. "Are you sure it cannot be deactivated? I happen to have some expertise in machinery, may I take a look at it?"

'Twenty four hours to cure the plague or you'll destroy everything and everyone. The white man's burden is heavy indeed,' Alex says sourly. He fishes out his whiskey and takes a long draught.

"Why didn't you tell us this before we came here?" asks Harry. "It's just the sort of thing that would have been helpful to know."

Crowley is looking unreasonably happy with life at the moment. "Oh well, we have twenty three hours to solve the problem and, failing that, one hour to find a fast moving boat." He pulls out his pocket watch to confirm the time.

"Or repair the plane," says Harry. "Surely there's some way to stop the countdown in the event we do stop the problem."

"Wait, it has a radius of about 3 miles, the area of the quarantine zone. We put the device in the central area and investigate what is the disease. If it is a normal disease, we evacuate everyone. If not... God may have mercy of those inside the area."

Crowley looks back at the aircraft. "I wouldn't count on that aircraft being in any state to fly in twenty four hours."

"I must say, Shapiro, your organisation has an odd, rather First Testament way of doing business. Was your original plan that we would be able to fly out, if we had to escape the explosion?"

"We were supposed to have two weeks. After, we could leave on foot if needed and walk 3 miles away from the device".
