"I've got a Zippo lighter," says Harry, taking it out with his left hand while keeping his revolver in his right. "Lights the first time, every time."

"I've got a gasoline blowtorch." Butch says. "It's in my backpack if you want to take it out." He will keep his rifle trained at the spider though.

OOC: No roll needed. It take you just some time, Meanwhile the spider continues with her web...

The web gets in flame very quickly.
The people behind you seems nervous.

“I think we should run past now, the flames won’t last long!” Jan starts beckoning to the villagers whilst watching the spider.
“What a brute.”

Crowley sighed. "I confess, I was hoping we could talk this one into cooperating."

"Can I suggest we place ourselves between it, ah, her and the people we're rescuing? Ready to respond if she gets annoyed. Or hungry."

"Spider! We really don't want to hurt you!" Crowley's shotgun was aimed at the beast though, just in case.

Harry guides the people past the spider, keeping his revolver trained on it.

Butch will continue past the spider with the people. He will not shoot at the spider unless it moves towards them.

Hurrying the people along, Alex looks at spider, and on the off chance tries to remember how to say Hello in Nahacal. All that comes out is garbled nonsense.

She let you pass, still observing you with her multiple eyes.

Harry watches the spider back as he ushers everyone past her. "Ma'am," he says, tipping his hat.

Crowley looked unreasonably pleased with this outcome. "Well, that went a lot better than expected."

"See, chaps and lady, we don't need to shoot first every time."

Activating "smug" mode.

'Not unless they're carrion-feeders, eh Crowley?' notes Alex, recalling the fate of those subterranian corpse-eaters.

Another hour has passed. The group is very slow walking. And then you all hear screams from the rear of the group.

Harry looks back, his revolver still in his hand.

Crowley hurried to the rear of the crowd, shotgun at the ready. "I really hope this isn't the spider."

"What's going on back there?" Butch yells and holds his position while encouraging the group to keep going.

Hurrying towards the noise, Alex holds his revolver out in front of him, searching for signs of an attacker.

“Zis is what happens when you don’t shoot first. I’ll guard the front of the line.” Jan ushers the villagers to follow her at a faster pace, looking around carefully in case of ambush. If she sees an easy tree to climb that would give her some good vantage, she’ll use that to scan the route (with her rifle)

When you arrive near the screams, you see a pack of 4 rodent-creatures (smaller then dogs, bigger than cats) with small tentacles dangling from their snouts that are attacking one of the children that was behind; some of the villagers are shouting se they leave the kid, but the creatures don't care.
