"All right then. Here goes nothing." Butch says as he climbs over the lip and begins descending the stairs with an open gas cannister. He tries to get used to the dim light so he can see any areas of darker dark.

Butch:
You hear a sound some meters in front of you. A hissing maybe? The ligths made by your companions are dancing near you; it's reassuring in the increasing darkness. You continue the descent and you continue to hear the sound always a bit ahead of you. Finally the only ligth is the one made by your friends and you suddenly "feel" a presence getting quick near you.

Alex takes a backseat from all the engineering, it's not really his wheelhouse. He lights a match and puts it to a cigarillo, draws deeply and then exhales the smoke. He takes a sip of whiskey and then struggles to his feet with a moan. He cautiously edges towards the rim of the shaft and peers down. I have a really bad feeling about this.

He takes out a little bottle of holy water and flicks a few drops down the shaft. Then he grips his crucifix in his hands and starts to chant.

'Quicumque vult salvus esse, ante omnia opus est, ut teneat catholicam fidem: Quam nisi quisque integram inviolatamque servaverit, absque dubio in aeternum peribit. Fides autem catholica haec est: ut unum Deum in Trinitate, et Trinitatem in unitate veneremur. Neque confundentes personas, neque substantiam separantes..'

'Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith. Which faith unless every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly. And the catholic faith is this: that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Essence'

OOC:   He's reciting the Athanasian Creed as part of a ritual of exorcism

OOC:   Any chance Alex could attempt to recreate the ritual in Hyperborean they used in the Arctic to prevent the entity from awakening? Coukd he try and repurpose it as some kind of banishing ritual?

Butch:
Suddenly you see a dark thing in your front. You are not able to actually see it, but it is like if darkness itself was moving.

Do you want to spend 29 Luck?

Maybe Crowley should have thrown it instead. He has the best Throw skill of all of us.

Crowley:

Crowley has his flare pistol in his right hand and his flashlight in his left. He shines the flashlight past his colleagues, down the well of the stairs, trying to see what's wicked and this way comes.

June keeps trying to angle the light down the shaft, but is starting to shake at the thought of seeing the thing again.

Butch throw the gasoline and after igniting it... he doesn't see anything in front, even if the fire is now iluminating everything.

Everyone see suddenly a fire in front of Butch; he probably used the gasoline against some threat.

Alex and Harry see something else: just behind Butch a black mass of amorphous lumps of
viscous black slime that pulse and moves and suddenly it screams from the several mouths that are formed in the appendages and it recoils from the light.

Everyone hear several non human screams near Butch.
Butch, you hear some screams behind you.

OOC: Alex and Harry make a sanity test. If you fail, loose 1d10, if you pass, loose 1 point.

Hearing the screams behind him, Butch will spin around and attempt to splash more gasoline where he thinks the creature of blackness is.
