Eugene rolls his eyes at the man's flippancy.

"After 'stumbling' into that warehouse and being attacked by that monster, you'll forgive me if I don't sound convinced. Listen folks, perhaps we should choose our battleground. Is there somewhere nearby that we can take Elizabeth and lure the Steadmans into a trap?"

Eugene Thomson,The problem with taking [b]Anna[/b] somewhere else and using her as bait was finding a way to let the [b]Steadmans[/b] know where she was without tipping them off that it's a trap. Right now, as far as they knew, she was here, and as far as he could tell there was nobody watching the place to see if she left. There were plenty of deserted areas in East London that could be good for an ambush, especially once it got dark. Bombed out buildings or shuttered warehouses could work, and he had seen more than a few, but the trick was making the [b]Steadmans[/b] aware of it without being too obvious about it. There had to be an explanation of why [b]Anna[/b] was there that would make sense as well. The one place that came to mind was the warehouse where he had encountered them last night, but he really didn't want to go back there...and yet, strangely, a part of him did. However, there were Home Guard soldiers posted there, and that [i]thing[/i] could still be there as well.

Eugene continues, answering his own question.

"Hmm, there are plenty of warehouses and bomb sites nearby, but going to any of them would surely raise the Steadman's suspicions... Anna, is there anywhere in the hospital grounds we could set a trap without endangering your patients?"

[Mr. Handy]

"Once the sirens go, everyone will head down to the basement shelter," said Anna. "Anywhere else in the sanitarium would be deserted, and we'd only have to worry about the Steadmans and their pet - and German bombs. Of course, what happens if they decide it's too difficult to get at me here and they go after someone else tonight?"

"That's it then," says Eugene. "We wait for the sirens - the Steadmans only attack during that time anyway. The alternative is to run around London hoping to bump into them. Perhaps we should tell Brook to come back here."

"If we can get her back here, yes, that sounds like a good idea," says Elizabeth, nodding as Eugene speaks. She looks around her nervously as she speaks, only too aware that they seem to be sitting ducks, and remembering that she's on that list ...

OOC:   Argh, just realised that I got Anna and Elizabeth mixed up! The Steadmans are after Elizabeth aren’t they? I’ve edited a couple of my posts.

”Right, so assuming all the patients are safe in the shelters, where in the hospital can we defend the best?”

[Pastiche]

"I've never been to the hospital, but perhaps the entrance hall is big enough and has a gallery on the second floor where we could hide?"

[Mr. Handy]

"That will do nicely," said Anna. "Should I tell Brook and Phyllis to come back here, then?"

Eugene nods.

"Yes. I think we stand a better chance if we're all together."

[Mr. Handy]

Anna picked up the receiver. "Brook, you and Phyllis should come back here," she said. "We're setting up a trap in case they come for me tonight. Come to the side door where the ambulances arrive and I'll let you in."
