"I don't think time is on our side, though sending a telegram would at least alert the government should we fail."

Charles becomes a little more animated as a possibly over ambitious idea takes hold in his mind "Perhaps we could say there was an emergency, or say we've uncovered a spy network, throwing in Lord Colville's name to give authenticity, send the warning anonymously if we want to keep out of it.. I just feel we'll be annihilated if we go in with what we've got currently"

"I think we need to do it anonymously, though mentioning Lord Colville would be a good idea," says Elizabeth. "And yes we should do it quickly."

"Yes, yes... a telegram sounds like an excellent idea." Story nods in agreement.

Well.. I'm not really sure.. something along the lines of "To whom it may concern, Nazi activity uncovered by Lord Colville in asylum, they killed him, without assistance London's defence could be severely compromised, enemy agents meeting at "X" o'clock at assylum, strong light sources only way of stopping their plans" perhaps? Oh, and something about Allied operatives being on site in civilian clothing, so we're not targeted just for being there as well I suppose... does that sound alright to everyone?" Asked Charles.

"Yes, that's better than anything I can think of."

"Maybe we could also mention the sole survivor of the Home Guard's raid on the warehouse being in danger? It could bring their attention to the Exeter situation and make them realise the stakes."

OOC,Please let me know what time you're putting on the telegram for the "meeting." Also, whoever actually writes it, please roll Persuade at half skill. It's not going to be as effective as talking to someone in person, especially since you can't respond to whoever reads it.

OOC,Someone please make the final decision and the roll for the telegram. After that, I can bring all of you back to the sanitarium and move things forward.

"Why don't we give the time for the meeting as midnight?" says Elizabeth, looking at the others in the group. "I know it's late, but it will probably bring help before then. At least it's a time, and not too early hopefully? Someone else other than me should write the telegram. I can get a little muddled with my words sometimes."

"Oh for goodness sake!" Eugene snaps, his nerves clearly overwrought. "Charles' wording is fine with a few changes and yes, midnight will do. Just send the telegram and let's get back!"

He scribbles down Charles' suggestion and adds a few salesman's phrases designed to get the reader's attention.

Eugene wrote the telegram, and it was quickly sent, though it was doubtful if it would do any good. Everyone then returned to the sanitarium, arriving at around five o'clock. Maggie Duncan was waiting for them in front of the doors. "Welcome back, duckies," she said. "Phyllis and Anna are in the tea shop across the way, and you'll never guess who showed up there: Madeline Steadman! I don't think she knows we saw her, but she's keeping an eye on Anna. You won't want her to see you too. Phyllis told me to tell you to wait out of sight. You can use the side entrance, where the ambulances come in, and Anna will sneak you inside later. Best if Miss Steadman thinks it's just us old ladies with Anna."

Once again, Eugene twitches at the witch's name. He swallows deeply and nods.

"Right you are Maggie. We'll keep our heads down."

"That's quite bold of her, to show up when her family is under watch... Thank you for telling us."

"Hmmm, is there any likelihood we could grab Mrs Steadman whilst she's spying on Anna, or would that be too much trouble? wondered Charles out loud.

"I can't imagine we could abduct her in broad daylight," said Maggie, "nor is that the sort of thing we do. Just move along to the side entrance out of her view."
OOC,Is there anyone who doesn't want to go to the side entrance?

OOC,The plan is for everyone to move to the side entrance and wait until Anna goes inside and lets everyone in that way. Is that what you meant, or are you entering the front door in full view?

OOC,Sorry, yeah, wait at the side entrance and wait for Anna to let me in.
