Dave calls out "Miss, Miss!!" loudly to check if a woman could hear him, if not Dave returns back to the short hall to check footlockers.

In the reception area-
The woman kept running and rounded the corner, out of sight. Dave returned to the short hall and entered the first door on the right.

In the staff room-
There were eighteen bunks, as well as lockers and tables. To the left was an open doorway leading to a large bathroom, in which Dave could see showers and toilet stalls.

In the staff room-
The footlockers contained military uniforms and civilian clothes, in decent shape but way out of style. They looked like they belonged in the 1960s.

Dave heard four gunshots in rapid succession coming from beyond the door he had closed at the end of the short hall, where he had trapped the rats. Then there was silence.
